Floral Design
Since becoming a professional florist in 2011, I have made countless floral arrangements, working on weddings, events, gifts, and workshops. The wild arrangement of autumnal hues (right) was made to encapsulate the exuberent feeling of the walled garden at the Cambo Estate in Fife, Scotland. I was sent there by Parterre for a floral workshop with renowed designers Christin Geal and Max Gill. Above, these arrangements were made from flowers grown in my garden, representing my interest in sustainability in the floral trade. Below left, a spring arrangement for a Parterre client is enhanced by the use of an advanced floral design technique called “reflexing.”

Halloween Installations
I had the privilege of creating one-of-a-kind Halloween installations over six seasons of work at Parterre. Some of my most epic designs were at the townhouse in Back Bay, which required an entirely new, immersive concept every year. I was responsible for pitching the concept, making and ordering materials, off-site preparation, and on-site leadership of the team (6-10 on average) to install. Clockwise from top left the installations were “Under the Sea” (2019), “Enchanted Fairy Woodland” (2022), “Day of the Dead” (2020), and “Dragon’s Lair” (2018).

Garden Designs
Here are a few of the many gardens I worked on while at Parterre. I selected and sold all plant materials, containers, and design (exceping bronze in below left image) and laid out materials on-site for the installation team.

Mantel Installations
Each holiday season for the last decade or so, I have designed custom mantel installations for my clients. These can range from whimsical (above left), to contemporary (below left), to more traditional with a contemporary twist (above). I have worked in some of the most high-end residential interior spaces that exist in Boston for this work.

Container Plantings
I have done thousands of container installations over the years, starting in 2012 while working for Winston Flowers. Above, I selected six Pennoyer Newman vessles for a new pool enclosure at a historic horse farm/residence. I selected the materials to harmonize with the poolhouse and umbrella. They were installed and maintained by Parterre Garden Services under my supervision. Below left, this image of my window box planting was used when Parterre won a “Best of Boston” award from Boston Magazine.

My Home Garden
These images and those on the next page represent development at my home garden over three growing seasons. Using sustainable methods, I replaced much of my lawn with drought-tolerant perennials.
