rom the undulating sands of the Sahara, the snow capped High Atlas mountains, the hustle of the souks, rose coloured palaces and date palms - this tour will immerse you in the culture and heritage of this beautiful country. A country more exotic and enticing is hard to find. Morocco blends the best of Arab civilisation with an appealing climate and some of the world’s most beautiful hotels. On this journey, we take in the fascinating history of imperial Fes, the mysterious Kasbahs of the Dades Valley, stay in a luxury desert camp and enjoy the charms of Marrakech.

With its ancient imperial cities, spectacular landscapes, bustling souks full of treasures, a mouth-watering cuisine and a fascinating blend of cultural and historic influences. You will soon be soaking up this fascinating history and colourful culture. We visit the dramatic snow-capped peaks, rugged hillsides and fertile valleys of the nearby Atlas Mountains. We also visit the port town of Essaouira. The ancient port of Essaouira, a charming whitewashed town on the Atlantic coast, is one of the country’s most picturesque places, with a thriving fishing industry, harbour front restaurants and a wonderfully relaxed pace of life.

RABAT AND VOLUBILIS Rabat – founded in the 12th century – its strategic position as a fortress, presents an interesting blend of old and new. Visit the famous City Gates and Tomb of Moulay Ismail. The Imperial Complex and Stables. Volubilis, the Roman ruins are among the best preserved ruins of the Roman Empire and was a regional capital in the 3rd century.

THE SAHARA DESERT With some of the most beautiful, spectacular and dramatic scenery in the world, we enjoy a quintessential Saharan experience – on our slow march across the sands astride a carmel.

Meknes - built by Moulay Ismail in the 17th century contains the Sultan’s Palace and a wonderfully preserved medina filled with easily navigated souks.

ESSAOUIRA 16th century fortress town, popular for its magnificent beaches, charming souk, colourful boats and seafood. Pick your seafood from the ice cart and watch as it is cooked in front of you/ Essaouira is pronounced as es-Sweera in Arabic.

MARRAKECH Marrakech - set within lush green gardens, olive groves and palm trees on the edge of the Sahara desert. The main square, Djemaa el-Fna Square, is the heart of the city, literally translates as “The” Mosque or Assembly of Death” in reference to the custom of displaying the heads of vanquished rebels. Today it is a square where at sunset the real image and charm of Moroccan folklore gather story tellers, snake charmers, acrobats, bands, and food stalls. FEZ The imperial city of Fez is the capital of traditional Moroccan culture. Old Fes is famed for its labyinthine souks, where traditional craft techniques are still practised. Fes, home to the oldest university in the world, and is the country’s cultural and spiritual centre. Wandering the medina in this medieval city with its high walls and narrow streets will enchant you. The entrance to Fes’s historical area, the Bab Bouiloud (Blue Gate) constructed by the French in 1913 using blue Fassi tiles in patterns of swirls and
