Terminal 2 of Bengaluru Airport is designed as a tribute to the Garden city of Bengaluru and the passenger experience is meant to be a “walk in the garden”
Bengaluru Airport’s Terminal 2 of Kempegowda International Airport, which was constructed for about Rs. 5000 crores, was officially opened by the honourable prime minister. The terminal will surpass the airport’s current capacity of 2.5 crore passengers annually to 5-6 crore passengers annually.
The passenger experience at Terminal 2 is meant to be like taking a “walk in the garden,” paying homage to Bengaluru’s Garden City. Over 10,000 square metres of green walls, hanging gardens, and outdoor gardens will be passed by passengers. The Airport has already set a standard for sustainability thanks to its campus-wide use of 100% renewable energy.
The design of Terminal 2 incorporates sustainability principles throughout. Based on sustainability initiatives, Terminal 2 will be the largest terminal in the world to receive a platinum certification from the US GBC (Green Building Council) before operations begin.
All of the commissioned artworks for Terminal 2 share the “Naurasa” theme. The paintings capture the ethos of India as a whole as well as the history and culture of Karnataka.
Overall, four guiding principles—Terminal in a Garden, Sustainability, Technology, and Art & Culture—have influenced the design and architecture of Terminal 2. All of these features highlight T2 as a terminal that is cutting-edge yet grounded in nature, providing each traveller with a unique “destination” experience.
The newly built Greenfield airport in Bengaluru, which was built on roughly 4008 acres of land at a project cost of about Rs. 2470 crore, opened for business on May 24, 2008. On July 17, 2013,

Terminal 1 (T1) currently has a designated capacity of 26.5 Million Passenger Per Annum (MPPA), which is expandable to 33.3 MPPA over a 1,63,535 sqm area.
Projections for future connectivity and the requirement for a new terminal.
According to BIAL, annual traffic will surpass 50 million in FY’26 and 60 million in FY’28. The airport’s newly built Terminal 2 will have a 25 MPPA designated capacity, bringing the total designated capacity of T1+T2 to 51.5 MPPA, with a stretchable capacity of 60 MPPA depending on peak-spreading and average passengers/ATM usage. The increased capacity will make it possible to accommodate the rising passenger foot traffic in the near future.

L’Atelier Robuchon is awarded its first Michelin star
TRAVEL MAIL:
The famed 2022 Michelin Guide has given L’Atelier Robuchon, under the direction of Executive Chef Olivier Jean, one Michelin star barely a year after The Woodward first opened its doors. The Woodward, the first all-suite hotel in Geneva, and is the newest addition to the Oetker Collection Masterpiece Hotels group.
The post-Haussmann-style hotel from 1901, which is located on Quai Wilson and offers breathtaking views of the majestic Mont Blanc, was painstakingly renovated by renowned architect Pierre-Yves Rochon. It currently sits immediately on the shores of Lake Geneva.
The hotel features two Michelin-starred restaurants, L’Atelier Robuchon and Le Jardinier, both of which also have locations in Geneva under the direction of Chef Olivier Jean.
The first of its kind in Switzerland, L’Atelier Robuchon features the renowned open kitchen concept of the eatery and offers a dramatic dining experience in a small, cosy setting for just 36 diners seated around the counter.
34 additional guests can be accommodated by additional high tables and two private dining rooms.
Since it first opened, the restaurant has made a name for itself as a chic and must-visit gastronomic destination in Geneva.
A trip through the senses is possible for attendees of the gastronomic performance, which is akin to a choreographed culinary dance, through a spontaneous and immersive opportunity to interact with the chefs.
Since its debut, the chic restaurant has been at the forefront of culinary innovation, serving a variety of Jol Robuchon’s hallmark dishes along side creative reimaginings by Chef Oliver Jean, who uses organic ingredients grown nearby, including vegetables from the Gaia vegetable garden in Hermance.
The end result is a concept inherited and reimagined by the renowned chef Jol Robuchon that combines perfection, innovation, French expertise, and distinct Asian elements.
Having spent six years at the head of Joël Robuchon’s Atelier in Taipei, and after leading the openings in Miami, New York, and Montreal, it was in Geneva in the kitchens of The Woodward that the French chef from Valence has written the new chapter of his great career. “To seduce our guests in Geneva, I proposed a menu highlighting local products that worked in a surprising way, using innovative combinations and textures. I would like this restaurant to become a must for any epicurean,” shares Chef Olivier Jean.
At L’Atelier Robuchon, Olivier Jean brings Jol Robuchon’s French-Asian fusion concept to reality. He aims to astound diners with unique flavour combinations and satiate their senses with extraordinary meals and avant-garde cooking methods.
Signature meals include organic beef from Swiss alpine pastures topped with foie gras and royal Sologne caviar and crab coated with a lobster jus—a renowned and sumptuous French dish named after the renowned composer, Rossini. Delicious desserts include a light kirsch mousse,
creamy chocolate, and vintage port served with “the Black Forest,” a treat with a texture similar to a mushroom and flavours of tart Morello cherries.
Titouan Claudet, a superb pastry chef, and Martin Cappelaere, a head sommelier and dining room manager, makeup Olivier Jean’s talented staff and together they manage the
show-stopping restaurant with style to give diners an unforgettable dining experience.
Claudet, a Besançon native, is a wonderful young talent who draws inspiration from modern art. His knowledge and inventive, creative creations span the kitchens of both L’Atelier Robuchon and Le Jardinier, and every morning, he delights hotel guests with his delightful pastries.

Idrees Biryani has established a presence among the famous brands like Tunday Kababbi and Wahid Biryani. Their store, which is still a typical shop today, located in Lucknow's Raja Bazaar Chowk neighbourhood. However, it surpasses all expectations in terms of his Biryani's flavour.
When the Biryani is cooking, the perfume of saffron, kewda, rose water, rice, and spices ties you down, making it impossible for you to change your mind despite how great it tastes making their mutton biryani one of the best delicacies.

In the heart of Amritsar, close to the Golden Temple, a new restaurant called Rang Punjab has recently opened, showcasing the rich, wonderful culture of Pind.
When one thinks of Punjab, the mind immediately conjures up visions of the Golden Temple, lush fields with farmers taking pride in their hard work, appetizing, wholesome food and of course the benevolent hospitality of the Punjabi folk. No trip to Punjab is ever complete without feeling that warmth, love and generosity that is very often expressed through the medium of lip-smacking, honest food. Exactly this spirit of Punjab has been recaptured by designer Kiran Dhillon and famed chef Gurpreet Gehdu in their brainchild and labour of love — Rang Punjab.
Rang Punjab offers visitors a taste of Punjab by showcasing the best of it, from traditional
Punjabi recipes to the most authentic papad, wadi, and aam papad as well as homemade sweets, street food, and desserts served in an atmosphere infused with old-world charm and nostalgia. Rang Punjab is situated in a stunning heritage building in the heart of Amritsar, just a few minutes away from the Golden Temple.
The 350-seat restaurant is housed in an 1866 British Raj administration building that has been renovated. It is divided into three sections: the main dining area, a food souk, and a function room with 100 seats.
A patio with sitting outside and access to their grill bike and kulfi bike surround this. The atmosphere has been deliberately designed to give tourists and visitors the impression that they are strolling through the narrow shops and markets of old Amritsar.
The interiors also incorporate a lot of polished wood along with crystal and brass origami chandeliers commissioned from India’s top origami artist. “The idea was to keep the place rustic, true to the roots and yet upmarket and stylish,” said Dhillon.
“My roots in rural Punjab and our international exposure helped us create the balance between old-world charm and modern comfort. We didn’t want anything to overpower, instead, it had to be in sync with the name, British architecture of the building as well as Punjabi elements of that era.”
The meal is straightforward and not overly intricate, evoking the authentic flavours of Punjab’s Pind. As a result, the menu features typical Punjabi dishes such as home cooked dinners, hot and spicy street cuisine, cold and creamy kulfi, and a sharbat bar with a variety of traditional drinks, including the Badaam Brahmi and Bazoori. The restaurant also has a traditional food market (food souk) where you can buy local delicacies from Amritsari such as aam papad, laddoos, and wadi.
Sustainability is something both Kiran Dhillon and Gurpreet Gehdu see a need for and hold close to their hearts, prompting them to start a farm resort project based on Agri-tourism. along side the restaurant. All ingredients are sourced directly from the farmers, from the best products to the freshest dairy.
Every dish on the menu here is flawless whether it be a platter of scrumptious Amritsari Chole and Kulche or something as unique as a Lachha palak Soya. The Rang Punjab tasting platter comprising of Aloo Wadi Pulao, Kujje wali dal, and Loon Ajwain Parantha to name a few dishes and is literally like tasting Punjab on a plate.
Rang Punjab aims to provide a comprehensive overview of Punjabi cuisine and culture to city visitors, serving as a one-stop shop for all things Punjab.
