Public Hotel New York – Luxury for All Public Hotel, an Ian Schrager Hotel is ushering a new era of luxury and elite guest experience to all. Ian Schrager’s vision is to make luxury accessible to everybody and not just the rich. Hotels around the world are incorporating the ever growing needs of millennials’ desire for creative and sophisticated designs, and you’ll find just that at the Public Hotel. Every area leading up to the receptionist and beyond will leave you in awe with eye-catching displays and designs. As we walked through with our luggage, we immediately noticed the most picturesque photos we wanted to capture. It is truly a haven for photographers and social media enthusiasts.

The Location Located in the vibrant Lower East Side of Manhattan New York, Public Hotel stands tall amongst the narrow alleys and residential buildings mixed with upscale apartments and elegant boutiques. The neighborhood is rich in culture and the perfect location for a weekend getaway. East Village is just a few blocks away giving you access to a lively nightlife with cocktail lounges, music venues, and hip restaurants. During the day enjoy a cup of coffee, casual dining, or browse the vintage shops.

The entrance leading up to the revolving doors is a beautiful garden walkway connected to a courtyard.

We visited during New Years so they had a massive balloon tree structure in the courtyard. Behind the revolving doors, you’ll find the first artistic design – the most photogenic neon-lit escalators with mirrors on all sides. You’ll most likely find a line of people waiting for the space to clear out so they could take pictures and selfies.

There is a Public Hotel gift shop with beautiful in-house styles and a casual dining restaurant with communal tables before going up the escalator to the main lobby. Coming off the escalator, you’ll see a pool table for guest use and bleacher-style seating along the walls. If your room is not ready, you can relax in the glamorous social space on the comfortable sofas in the lobby which also has a sea of books and artifacts on the walls. The next artistic design is right next to the elevators. The area is pitch dark with the only light illuminating from a neon blue portal-like mirror.

The main lobby also has an intimate cocktail bar called Diego with beautiful furniture, wall art, and a cute fireplace. We already had plans for New Years but it seemed like they had a party of their own because it was completely decorated.(Check out our Instagram) You’ll also have access to The Roof – a rooftop bar with panoramic views of the city and an outdoor terrace. Late night it turns into a nightlife hotspot playing some of the hottest music. During our stay, they had a New Years event at The Roof with a special DJ performing. All in all, the hotel has two restaurants, a rooftop terrace, three bars, and a wellequipped fitness center.

There are a total of 367 rooms in the hotel and they are not your ordinary rooms. The designs are simplistic, yet sophisticated with attention paid to every detail. The rooms have floor to ceiling windows with city views if you are above the 10th floor. They have integrated easy-to-use technology to control the shades and blinds with multiple features and the temperature as well. The TV has Bose wireless Bluetooth speakers with extremely fast wifi.
