Welcome
Hello, and welcome to TransFormations - Trans* Film Festival Berlin 2016! We’re very excited to be announcing the first of what will be an ongoing, bi-yearly festival showcasing the talents of trans* filmmakers and artists from around the world. We offer an exciting three-day film program, as well as an art exhibition and two evenings of performances. As a group of Black and PoC organizers, it has been very important to us to make space for a wide range of narratives, from different geographies and backgrounds, to speak about and represent gender variance in diverse, intersectional ways. We hope to become more and more successful in attaining this goal over the years, and are very excited to open up a unique conversation, full of possibilities, about what ‘trans’ can mean. As it is vital for us that as many people as possible feel welcomed to participate in this discussion, we have worked hard to, and are continuing to work on, making this space as accessible as possible: a wheelchair accessible venue, a quiet space for those who may need it, very low ticket prices for screenings and a wide range of representations. We look forward to experiencing this space with you all and continuing to build onward together - TFFB Team Hallo und willkommen zum TransFormations- Trans*Film Festival Berlin 2016! Wir freuen uns, das erste Festival anzukündigen, das in einem zweijährigen Rhythmus weitergeführt wird und Talente von trans* Filmmacher_innen aus der ganzen Welt präsentiert. Wir bieten ein spannendes dreitägiges Filmprogramm, sowie eine Kunstausstellung und zwei Performanceabende. Als eine Gruppe von Schwarzen und PoC-Organisierenden, war es uns sehr wichtig, einen Raum zu schaffen für ein breites Spektrum an Narrativen, von verschiedenen Geografien und Hintergründen kommend, um über non-konforme Gender in vielfältiger und intersektioneller Form zu sprechen und sie zu repräsentieren. Da es uns besonders wichtig ist, dass sich so viele Menschen wie möglich willkommen fühlen, an dieser Diskussion teilzunehmen, haben wir hart daran gearbeitet, diesen Raum so zugänglich wie möglich zu machen. Es gibt: einen rollstuhlgerechten Veranstaltungsort, einen ruhigen Raum für Personen, die diesen brauchen, sehr niedrige Eintrittspreise für die Vorstellungen und ein breites Spektrum an Repräsentationen. Wir freuen uns, diesen Raum mit dir gemeinsam zu erleben und gemeinsam weiter aufzubauen.-TFFB Team
