ABOUT TRANEMO ADVANCED WORKWEAR
ADVANCED FLAME RETARDANT SOLUTIONS Tranemo has a simple vision that no one should be seriously injured in an accident where the correct work clothing could have prevented the accident, or helped to reduce the consequences of it. We strive to make workplaces safer by leading the development of new advanced flame retardant solutions. 100% INHERENT FLAME RETARDANT Tranemo only sells flame retardant workwear, which ensures the user protection throughout the garment’s lifetime. The flame retardant properties are integrated into the molecular structure of the fibers and cannot be washed out or worn off. In addition to the flame retardant properties, comfort, low weight, and durability are among the advantages.
EN ISO 20471 High Visibility, and EN 1149-3 Antistatic. Since EN ISO 15797 is always performed on new and clean clothing where no dirt is involved, Tranemo also conducts real-use tests of workwear in combination with laundering at our industrial laundry partners to obtain the most reliable results. After wear tests and washing, we verify that the clothing still maintains the highest performance. Tranemo also conducts internal washing tests before each production to ensure the highest durability of fabrics and reflective tapes.
PERSONAL PROTECTION SYSTEM Tranemo’s goal is zero serious work-related injuries caused by flame or intense heat. The right clothing can save the user’s life if accidents occur. The combination of clothing is crucial for the level of protection. We design the protection system from the skin outward. Tranemo provides advice on the need for flame retardant underwear, solutions for all seasons, designs for specific functions, and, of course, solutions for both women and men. We develop our collections as systems for specific industries and the risks present there.
PPE CLOTHING FOR WOMEN For safety reasons, it is important to wear the correct PPE clothing, and that it fits properly. Comfort and ergonomics are reasons often cited for protective clothing not being worn correctly or perhaps not being used at all. Therefore, we also offer a selection of women’s models in women’s sizes in our product range.
USER TEST We conduct user tests in collaboration with our largest customers to ensure that the clothing has all the desired features and functions effectively. Comfort and ergonomics are reasons often cited for protective clothing not being worn correctly or perhaps not being used at all.
INDUSTRIAL LAUNDRY Industrial laundering of FR clothing is often recommended to ensure they are clean and suitable for use. To achieve the best results, we also always recommend that customers testwash FR clothing following our washing instructions. Tranemo conducts tests after 50 industrial washes in accordance with EN ISO 15797 for: EN ISO 11612 A1 Surface Ignition,

SYMBOLS All Tranemo PPE Clothing follows the Regulation (EU)2016/425 and the latest European (EN) standards for PPE Clothing covered by the Regulation.
CE MARKING FOR PROTECTIVE GARMENTS All Tranemo PPE Clothing is CE marked. The CE marking indicates that a Notified Body has CE type examined these garments according to the PPE Regulation (EU)2016/425. On Tranemo garments you will find this symbol on the inside CE label. The CE label also shows which standards and classes the garments are approved for.
UKCA MARKING FOR PROTECTIVE GARMENTS From 01/01/2025, products sold to Great Britain must be labeled with the British product mark UKCA, United Kingdom Conformity Assessed, which will then replace the European CE mark. Until then, only CE-marked products are allowed. Tranemo will already now label new products with both CE and UKCA.
INFORMATION SYMBOL When you find this symbol on the CE label inside the PPE garment it indicates that there is additional information from Tranemo attached to your PPE garment. This information must be read before you start using the garment to ensure that it is worn correctly and giving the optimum protection in the workplace.
TRANEMO SKINSAFE™ The Tranemo Skinsafe™ symbol is shown on each garment that can be combined in the Skinsafe system and recommended by Tranemo.
STANDARD 100 BY OEKO-TEX® Most of the fabrics and accessories that Tranemo uses are certified to class 2 according to Oeko-Tex® standard 100. Oeko-Tex® is an independent third-party certification process that ensures control of harmful and hazardous chemicals. The garments are tested for numerous regulated and non-regulated substances, which may be harmful to human health. When a garment is certified in accordance with Standard 100, you can be certain that every component of this garment, i.e. fabrics, thread, buttons, labels and other accessories, have been tested for harmful substances and that the garment therefore is harmless for human health. We work continuously to reach our goal - all products certified at garment level.

PFAS FREE CLOTHING At Tranemo, we recognize that fluorinated chemicals are a challenge for both people and the environment. Because of this, we made an active decision long ago to take the necessary steps to eliminate harmful chemicals in our entire production chain in the future. Tranemo does not use the harmful PFOS and PFOA (C8-listed) chemicals, which are among the critical chemicals mentioned in the press. These chemicals have long been on our ’Restricted Substance List’ and are not used in the production of our products.
WHAT IS PFAS AND WHERE IS IT USED? Perfluoroalkyl substances (PFAS) are a chemical family consisting of nearly 5,000 industrially produced chemicals and have been used in the textile industry for a long time to protect textiles from moisture, grease, and dirt. However, these substances degrade extremely slowly and therefore have a negative impact on the environment and health. These chemicals provide properties such as non-stick, water-repellent, and anti-grease for many types of products, including cosmetics, food packaging, frying pans, outdoor equipment, and firefighting foam. We see enormous potential in the newly developed technology that eliminates fluorocarbon treatment without affecting the overall protection level of workwear. We are now part of the Swedish nonprofit organization ChemSec’s ’No to PFAS’ movement to influence how chemical regulations

TRANEMO ADVANCED WORKWEAR
ENHANCES PROTECTION AGAINST ELECTRIC ARCS AND RADIANT HEAT Tranemo Skinsafe™ is a certified multi-layer protection system designed to protect the user’s skin from flames, heat, and arc flash incidents. By wearing multiple layers of arc protective clothing, protection is significantly increased due to the formation of air gaps between the layers, and air is a poor conductor of electricity. It is important to emphasize that the total protection value of a layer-on-layer system cannot be calculated simply by summing the energy values from individual pieces of clothing. To determine the energy value of a layer-on-layer system, an arc flash test of multiple layers on a mannequin is required, simulating how the clothing would be worn in real-life situations.
We refer to our tested layer-on-layer system as Tranemo Skinsafe™, which provides a greater opportunity to select the right protective clothing based on risk assessment. As mentioned in NFPA 70E, the American counterpart to the European ARC standard, and from Tranemo Skinsafe™ testing experience, using multiple layers of arc-protective clothing is an effective way to achieve the required arc flash protection at the lowest overall weight of a layer-on-layer system. The use of a layer-on-layer system, therefore, offers higher user comfort and an increased likelihood that the arc-protective clothing is always worn.
LAYER 1 – SKIN PROTECTION In the event of an accident, wearing the wrong underwear can lead to the fabric burning and melting onto your skin. To protect against this, our Flame-Retardant underwear offer the following benefits: Inherent Flame Retardant safety, soft and comfortable. Anti-Static and does not give a bad odour.

LAYER 2 – INSULATION

An insulating mid-layer should be worn to increase comfort during the colder months of the year. This layer creates a distance between layer 1 and 3 which insulates against electricity and heat as well as low temperatures.

LAYER 3 – SHIELD The primary function of any outer layer must be protection – however, to be worn every day, these garments should also fit the body snugly and offer comfort, freedom of movement and meet practical needs such as storage.
AIR GAP The air gaps between the layers of the Tranemo Skinsafe™ system have a low conductivity of electricity and heat. As well as insulating against cold in the winter they provide extra safety in any number of demanding work situations.

The use of multiple thinner layers instead of one thick layer provides the wearer with the following additional benefits: LIGHTWEIGHT The layers of air in the Tranemo Skinsafe™ system increase protection against heat, electricity and cold. They also contribute to a system that has a combined weight that is much less than a single garment with the same protection. This weight reduction allows the wearer to work more effectively and for longer periods.
FREEDOM OF MOVEMENT Soft, thin garments with ergonomic design offer much better freedom of movement than thick garments. Thanks to this, the difference the wearer feels at the end of the working day is significant.
THE RIGHT FIT The multi-layer system gives the wearer the opportunity to easily ‘fine-tune’ their clothing. Put on more when the weather demands this or go down to a comfortable base protective level when the risk is lower and the temperature is higher.
