Class Cancellation & Refund Policy

Full Refunds or Credits

A full refund or credit will be issued in the following circumstances:

• If the class or program is canceled by the recreation center.

• If a participant or family member provides documen- tation of a medical or health situation preventing class attendance.

• If a participant or family member is relocated to an area that prevents class attendance.

Prorated Refunds and Credits

Prorated refunds may be issued if withdrawing during a session, in the form of a credit loaded onto the customer’s account, at the program supervisor’s discretion.

Non-Refundable Situations

• No Shows: Refunds will not be issued for non-attendance on behalf of the participant.

• Mid-Class Cancellations: No refunds for cancellations after the start of a class.

Cancellation Penalties

Cancellations made less than 5 days before the start of a class will incur a 50% penalty on the total fee paid due to limited spots and the inability to fill last-minute vacancies.

Refund Request Procedure

Refund requests must be submitted in writing to the program supervisor and include relevant documenta- tion. Refunds for card purchases will be issued to the original payment method. No cash refunds will be is- sued. Please allow up to two weeks for a check refund.

Class Cancellation & Refund Policy *

Full refunds or credits are available for cancellations made before the class begins. Cancellations within 5 days or less of the class start date will incur a 50% fee. No refunds for missed classes on behalf of the partic- ipant. Refunds are processed to the original payment method; allow up to two weeks for check refunds. Med- ical or relocation issues may qualify for a full refund. For more details, contact the program supervisor.

Facility Center Code of Conduct

Patrons are encouraged to behave in an appropriate manner and should act in a way that will not injure another person physically or emotionally. Individuals who do not abide by facility and program standards may be asked to leave the facility and/or withdraw from a program. Actions interfering with or disrupting the Trails Recreation staff while trying to provide a safe and secure family environment will be cause for expulsion from all District facilities.

A Trails Birthday Party

Have an unforgettable birthday adventure with the Trails Recreation Center team! We offer several fun party options to make sure your birthday party is as unique as you are. Choose from an array of possible themes like:

Each party includes the main activity, party staff, a dedicated party room, and a delectable Coldstone Creamery cake. Plus, we’ve got you covered with refreshing drinks and all the paper products you’ll need for an epic celebration. Parties are available every Saturday and Sunday; a $50 non-refundable credit card deposit is due when reserving a party. About our Childcare Department

If you’ve been searching for a gym with childcare, look no further! The Trails Recreation Center’s Childcare Department is the perfect place for you to drop your child off at while you’re working out and enjoying the rec center. We currently require reservations, so please sign up each child that will be attending the nursery. We offer 2-hour time slots for children 3 months to 9 years of age.

Our childcare staff are trained and experienced in providing developmentally appropriate activities that promote learning and play. Each staff member is CPR/AED/First Aid certified and has previous childcare experience. Reservations are required for childcare.

Aquatics • Learn to Swim

Learn to Swim Program

Parent Tot (ages: 6 months - 3 years)

Dive into the world of water fun with your little one! Designed as a baby swimming lesson for toddlers ages 6 months to 3 years, Parent-Tot Swim offers a dynamic mix of water exploration and skill-building exercises. With a parent or guardian in the water, toddlers will build water confidence by learning how to blow bubbles, float and kick on their front and back, jump into the pool with assistance, as well as basic arm movements for swimming strokes. Different games and activities with floating bath toys may be used to teach swimming principles throughout this infant swim lesson.

Preschool 1 (ages: 3-5)

Learn to swim and enroll your 3-to-5-year-old in our Preschool Level 1 Swim Class to watch them gain confidence in the water and develop a strong foundation for future swimming success. Our toddler swimming lesson instructors will guide children through fundamental skills such as blowing bubbles, breath control, floating, and flutter kicks, all while instilling important water safety principles for beginners.

Preschool 2 (ages: 3-5)

Geared toward children ages 3-5 years who have passed our Preschool Level 1 swimming class (or can complete the prerequisites), Level 2 builds on existing knowledge taught within the learn to swim program and teaches participants to float unassisted, retrieve objects at the bottom of the pool, refine their kicks and strokes, and enter and exit the pool unassisted.

Preschool

3 (ages: 3-5)

Preschool Level 3 is a swimming class for kids tailored for those 3-to-5-year-olds who have already completed Level 1 and Level 2 (or can fulfill the prerequisites) and are ready to conquer new swim lesson challenges. From mastering effective arm and leg movements to learning breathing techniques and diving into various swim strokes, our experienced instructors provide kids with individualized swim instruction in a fun and engaging environment.

Youth Level 1 (ages: 6-12)

If you’ve been looking for a swim lesson in Centennial that teaches kids ages 6-12 essential skills including floating on their front and back, facial submersion, and basic arm and kicking movements, then our Youth Level 1 beginner swim class is for you. Our learn to swim program also covers effective pool entry and exit techniques, ensuring your child feels comfortable and confident in any aquatic setting.

Youth Level 2 (ages: 6-12)

Designed as a swimming class for kids who have successfully completed the Youth Level 1 class (or can fulfill the prerequisites), Youth Level 2 builds on the skills taught in previous swimming lessons like floating unassisted and refining front and back kicking movements, entering and exiting the pool unassisted, and improving arm strokes.

Youth Level 3 (ages: 6-12)

Help advance your child’s swimming skills by enrolling them in Youth Level 3, a swimming lesson created to boost confidence and build on knowledge taught in previous swim classes. Young swimmers will focus specifically on effective arm and leg movements, proper breathing methods, and introductory sessions on advanced swim strokes like the breaststroke and front crawl.

Youth Level 4 (ages: 6-12)

If you’ve been searching for kids swimming lessons that’ll teach an advanced level of swim instruction, then our Youth Level 4 class in our learn to swim program is for you. This swim class focuses on fundamental stroke refinement, improving form on advance strokes, introduces or refines the butterfly stroke, and teaches surface diving.

Youth Advanced (ages: 6-12)

Created as a way for proficient youth swimmers to enhance their current swimming abilities, Youth Advanced is a swimming class for kids that will expand on techniques, refine turns, and improve breathing while in the water.

Youth Conditioning (ages: 6-12)

If your child can swim advanced strokes for 100 yards without stopping and still can’t get enough water time, then our Youth Conditioning kids swimming class is for them. This swim series will help your 6–12-year-old build stamina, proper form, and refine the skills needed for continuous swimming; it is specifically designed to prepare for competitive swimming, triathlons, or hard exercise.

Teen & Adult Beginner (ages: 13+)

If you’ve been searching for adult swim lessons or swim lessons for adults in your browser and have been wanting to learn to swim, then our Teen and Adult Beginner swim class is for you. Designed for those with minimal water experience, participants will learn proper arm and kick movements for a front crawl and back stroke, how to float effectively on their front and back, and receive an introduction to different survival strokes.

Teen & Adult Conditioning (ages: 13+)

Modeled similarly to our Youth Conditioning, Teen and Adult Conditioning is another class in our adult swim lessons series. This swim class will help anyone 13 or older build endurance, correct their form, and refine the skills needed for continuous swimming; it is specifically designed to prepare for competitive swimming, triathlons, or hard exercise.

CARA Youth Swim Team Swim Team (ages: 5-18)

Dive into excitement with our CARA summer swim team, hosted at the Trails Recreation Center! We welcome participants who can confidently swim a minimum of 50 yards independently and without interruption. Limited space available, and practice times will be determined by group availability. Experience the thrill of competition with four off-site swim meets during the season.

A: Per the CDC’s Guidelines, our pool temperatures are as follows: Activity pool: 86-87 °F, Lap Pool: 82-84 °F, Hot Tub: 102-104 °F

Q: Does the Trails Recreation Center offer aquatic themed birthday party packages?

A: If you want to make your child’s birthday party a splash, look no further than the Trails Recreation Center. We offer the best swim-themed birthday parties in town, with fun games, an ice cream cake, activities, and a dedicated party space.

Q: How do I book a private swim lesson?

A: Everyone has different and unique goals when it comes to swimming, which is why private swim lessons are flexible and customizable; if you’re uncomfortable in a group setting, want to improve your swim strokes, are looking for specific swim guidance, or are seeking specialized swim team training, then our private lessons are for you! You can book a private swim lesson on our website (use the QR code) or through the “Private Lessons” tab on Amilia.

If you’ve been searching for adult basketball leagues that you and your friends can compete in, look no further! Up and Under is the Trails Adult Basketball League where you can recruit and play with friends (or against them), get some exercise, work up a sweat, shoot 3-pointers, and leave it all on the court. Prizes will be awarded to the winning basketball team.

Disc Golf

If you’re wondering how to play disc golf or have recently searched for disc golf tips, then this 4-week beginner disc golf class is for you! Learn the ins and outs of disc golf like proper holding and throwing techniques, what the different types of frisbee discs are, and proper etiquette when playing on a course. Taught by instructors from Fly Green Disc Golf at the Tall Grass Disc Golf Course, this new class will show you why disc golf is one of the most popular sports in the area. This class will be taught in conjunction with the Youth Disc Jockey class.

From the Ground Up

Are you interested in helping coach your child in sport fundamentals but don’t know where to start? Join our 2-day clinic, where our instructors will teach you the basics of basketball, baseball, soccer, or volleyball. We’ll also give you tips and techniques you can pass on to your kid to help improve their game. Bring your child on the second day and show off what you’ve learned, while also teaching them ways to improve their own skills and getting personalized coaching from our staff.

This beginner pickleball class is designed to help participants grasp the fundamentals of pickleball such as proper paddle handling to serving, returning, volleying, and strategic positioning.

Going One Step Further (ages: 18+)

Join our Going One Step Further pickleball class designed for experienced players seeking to enhance their court skills. This class focuses on developing creativity and strategy in shot selection. Participants will refine their ability to place the ball strategically across the court, utilize various shot types for different scenarios, and employ tactics to outmaneuver opponents. Sessions include practice with peers of similar skill levels to ensure both improvement and enjoyment.

Prerequisites include a solid grasp of pickleball fundamentals and tactics. Topics covered include mastering the NVZ line and shots from the Transition Zone, leveraging serves effectively, and enhancing doubles play by protecting partners. Participants will also explore advanced positioning techniques like stacking and various scoring methods including rally scoring and tournament formats.

Hot Shots (ages: 5-7)

The Hot Shots basketball for kids program focuses on teaching the basics of basketball including passing, dribbling, jumping, rebounding, and shooting, all in a fun environment. It’s the perfect balance between learning fundamental basketball training skills and having a blast on our indoor basketball court.

Fast Breakers (ages: 8-11)

Our Fast Breakers is a youth basketball clinic that is designed to empower young athletes and help them improve their essential basketball techniques like dribbling, passing, shooting, rebounding, and defensive skills.

If you’ve been looking for basketball training that’ll refine every aspect of your child’s court skills, then Advanced Basketball is the class for you. Whether you’re eyeing competitive leagues or just want to be the best player you can be, this youth basketball class will help you improve your conditioning through various skills and drills.

Triple Threat Youth League (ages: 5-10)

If you’ve been searching for a youth basketball league in Aurora that’ll give your child an opportunity to put their basketball training to the test, then enroll them in our Triple Threat League! Participants can expect one hour of weekly practice to work on their skills and one weekly game (held on Saturdays for kids ages 5-7 and Sundays for youth ages 8-10). Game T-shirts are provided for this 6-week league held at the Trails Recreation Center.

Parent/Child 2-on-2 Tournament (ages: 8-11)

Saturday, March 8 from 9:30 am-12:00 pm (for youth ages 8-9) and 1:00- 3:00 pm (for youth ages 10-11).

Join us at Trails Recreation Center for our annual basketball for kids and parents tournament! Each parent-child team is guaranteed to play 3 games. All games are 10 minutes long with the winning team either 1) getting the most points, 2) being the first to get to 11 points, or 3) scoring first after the 10-minute mark. Put that basketball training to the test and join us on the court for our Coed Parent & Child Basketball Tournament. Prizes will be awarded to the winners.

Designed for players who have already mastered the basics, Basket Bashers is a 4-week class that will help you improve your skills and get you tournament ready. Held at Tall Grass Disc Golf Course, instructors from Fly Green Disc Golf will analyze your forehand/backhand throws, walk you through all the top disc golf brands and accessories, give you tips on how to improve your putting game, and show you techniques to increase your basket accuracy.

Parent Tot Gymnastics (ages: 18 months-3)

In this 45-minute toddler gymnastics class, you will play with your child and learn the fundamentals of gymnastics, such as rolling, jumping, balancing, and swinging. These skills taught in gymnastics for toddlers will also help your child develop their motor skills, coordination, and confidence.

Itty Bitty Gymnastics (ages: 3-5)

Itty Bitty Kids’ Gymnastics is designed to help your child with techniques that teach balance and coordination, such as rolling, jumping, and landing. They will also enjoy playing with props and obstacle courses that challenge their skills and imagination. If you’re looking for a boys or little girl gymnastics class that will introduce your child to the benefits of physical activity and help them get the wiggles out, our gymnastics for kids classes will help them have fun.

Rock Climbing Rookies (ages: 7-18)

Rock Climbing Rookies is a beginner rock climbing class for kids that will teach them the basic skills required to top rope safely. They’ll learn how to put on a harness and other essential techniques such as footwork and handholds. Climbers will also learn how to work through their fears, problem solve while on the wall, patiently wait to climb, and how to encourage others on the indoor climbing wall.

Pee Wee Passers (ages: 5-7)

Pee Wee Passers is a soccer for kids’ clinic that emphasizes fun while teaching the fundamentals to kids ages 5-7. Players will learn how to use their feet and chest to help their team score goals. Offensive and defensive tactics will also be covered. Soccer cleats are recommended but not required.

The Trails offers drop-in group fitness classes that are free to anyone who has a gym membership! Because these drop-in fitness classes are limited in space, we require everyone to register before attending. They are extremely popular, so registrations can only be made 75 hours in advance. Fusion

Ball Pilates (ages: 16+)

Mondays from 6:00-7:00 pm.

Our Pilates class focuses on increasing strength, flexibility and muscle tone with a focus on improving posture, proprioception and functional strength. Each class will work to balance all muscle groups with an emphasis on challenging the core muscles with each movement. We will incorporate the use of a large stability ball and a small Pilates ball to expand your knowledge and explore new exercises.

NOTE: Pilates Balls are required; these can be purchased at the front desk.

Boot Camp (ages: 18+)

This intermediate to advanced class taught by a Certified Personal Trainer combines the best of cardiovascular and strength training for a workout that will challenge your mind and body. We will alternate between high intensity, low intensity, times intervals, using a variety of exercises through timed intervals of free weights, plyometrics, cardio training, core & balance work.

Corrective Exercise (ages: 16+)

Wednesdays from 5:30-6:30 pm.

Corrective exercise is an approach that aims to identify movement dysfunction and use activities tailored to an individual’s needs to improve mobility, relieve chronic pain or discomfort, and correct imbalanaces. The class is taught by one of our Personal Trainers certified in Corrective Exercise. During the class, body weights and light weights will be used to improve muscle imbalances, body mobility, body balance, joint function, and core strength through slow and controlled movements.

Fit at 60+ (ages: 60+)

Wednesdays from 12:00-1:00 pm.

This intermediate total body conditioning class is designed for very active adults 60 & over who wish to increase their stamina and strength. The class encompasses multiple formats utilizing dumbbells, bands, steps, stability balls, and BOSUs. We stress functional training with an emphasis on core strength and stability.

HIIT the Weights (ages: 16+)

Thursdays from 5:30-6:30 pm.

Boost your metabolism with two exercise formats for weight loss: high-intensity interval training (HIIT) and weight training. Experience a fun, effective, and challenging workout using various exercises & choreography.

About Specialty Fitness Classes

Our small group specialty classes are programs that patrons must register for and are taught by a Certified Personal Trainer. Registration runs from the 15th at 5:00 pm through the 25th at 11:59 pm. Classes are subject to change depending on availability and regis- tration (classes have a minimum/maximum number of spots) and are offered on a monthly basis.

We do not offer pro-rates for missed classes (with the exception of a documented medial injury).

This interval style class consists of a combination of low impact aerobics, strength training, and balance and stability improving movements. Designed for active adults 60+ who wish to improve their overall stamina and strength.

Get strong and stay fit! Use a variety of free weights, machines, and body weight to challenge all your muscles. Your strength will be mixed with cardio bursts to torch body fat and get you stronger and more fit than you ever thought was possible. Total Body Conditioning (ages: 16+)

Upbeat Barre is a low-impact, barre-inspired muscle endurance workout set to fun, upbeat music. The music drives the movement to motivate you to push harder while keeping the workout fun and challenging. This class is appropriate for most fitness levels, with plenty of movement options.
