a 1934 recipe from Van Horn, Texas on the Texas Mountain Trail, Old Spanish Trail, and the Bankhead Highway
The Clark Girls. Their family operated the Clark Hotel , now a museum in Van Horn
The recipe didn’t offer an oven temperature. We used 350 degrees and watched them like a hawk!
Across the street, the historic Hotel El Capitan. Fully restored and operating as a hotel today. Host for the town’s annual Pecan Dessert Contest.
