Food & Drink Cluster East of England The cluster represents a broad variety of food & drink companies in the region and was created to support members to expand into new international markets through sharing knowledge and insights and planning joint activities.

We at DIT are supporting the cluster through advice on specific market trends and demands, routes to market, facilitating business partners in markets, trade shows and meet the buyer events and e-commerce trading.

The cluster meets every quarter and shares information and knowledge about the sector and doing business abroad.

The East of England has some unique characteristics and particular strengths that add to a company’s value proposition in international markets. It is well known for the quality of its farming and fisheries expertise, with rich Fenland soil and fertile coastal waters along with the world renowned University city of Cambridge with its iconic architecture and its hi-tech cluster. Across this varied region, from countryside to city, companies are producing exciting ranges of food and drinks.

Farmers in East Anglia cultivate a wide variety of foodstuffs, including cereals, sugar beet, beetroot, peas, beans, apples, strawberries, potatoes and many more.

Britain’s pig and poultry farms are centred mainly in The East of England and have a strong tradition of quality and our poultry farms supply 2.2 million eggs and over a quarter of England’s table chickens.

This heritage of over 1000 years of landscape cultivation and animal husbandry is a foundation on which fresh thinking and process innovation continues to flourish in the 21st century. Pasta Rapido Our Rapido INSTANT pasta requires “no cooking” just rehydration with hot water, which only takes 3-5 minutes. Only the best quality Durum Wheat is used sourced from carefully selected regions across Europe.
