Youth Basketball League

Coaches’ Timeline Dates and times subject to change.

Once again the City of Tracy is offering its very popular Youth Hoops program, a recreational youth basketball league. This program has become one of the City’s more popular programs. In 2014, all three of the boy’s divisions filled up before the deadline, so interested individuals are encouraged to register early to secure your spot in the program. This program is a great opportunity for kid’s grades 3rd through 8th to participate in a fun recreational basketball league that stresses fun, sportsmanship, skill development and teamwork. Individual leagues are held for 3-4 grade boys, 3-4 grade girls, 5-6 grade boys, 5-6 grade girls and 7-8 grade coed. Participants will be able to develop their skills and play with other kids throughout Tracy. Practices may be held on any day of the week, all games are conducted on Saturdays from the middle of December through the middle of February. No previous experience is required. All skill levels are welcome! For more information please call (209) 831-6200. Location: TBA Registration Deadline: October 16 Note: SPACE IS LIMITED. Player must attend skills assessment day, October 17. Late registration MAY be available at the skills assessment day if league is not full. Uniform sizes will be verified at skills camp. Class #

The City of Tracy is once again very pleased to offer their Youth Hoops program for a very reasonable fee. One of the reasons that the City is able to offer a very successful and exceptional program at this low fee is due to the commitment of the community in supporting the league. The greatest opportunity to support the program is through volunteering as a coach in one of the age divisions. Not only does volunteering for the program assist with this program, it offers you the chance to make a difference in the lives of our local youth. Research has shown that participants in recreation programs such as the City’s Youth Hoops league stay in school longer, have fewer problems with the law and become better citizens. We encourage you to consider this opportunity to give back to your community. Coach’s commitment is only two hours per week, one for practice and one for games when the season starts. No experience is necessary as the City provides free coaches training for all volunteers. To volunteer or for further information, please call (209) 831-6200.
