Youth/ Teens Youth Basketball League

Youth Basketball Coaches Needed!

Once again the City of Tracy is offering its very popular Youth Hoops program, a recreational youth basketball league. This program has become one of the City’s more popular programs. In 2013, all three of the boy’s divisions filled up before the deadline, so interested individuals are encouraged to register early to secure your spot in the program. Participants are required to attend our Skills Assessment Day, on October 18. Uniform sizes will be confirmed at the assessment day as well.

The City of Tracy is once again very pleased to offer their Youth Hoops program for a very reasonable fee. One of the reasons that the City is able to offer a very successful and exceptional program at this low fee is due to the commitment of the community in supporting the league. The greatest opportunity to support the program is through volunteering as a coach in one of the age divisions. Not only does volunteering for the program assist with this program, it offers you the chance to make a difference in the lives of our local youth. Research has shown that participants in recreation programs such as the City’s Youth Hoops league stay in school longer, have fewer problems with the law and become better citizens. We encourage you to consider this opportunity to give back to your community. Coach’s commitment is only two hours per week, one for practice and one for games when the season starts. No experience is necessary as the City provides free coaches training for all volunteers. To volunteer or for further information, please call (209) 831-6200.

This program is a great opportunity for kid’s grades 3rd through 8th to participate in a fun recreational basketball league that stresses fun, sportsmanship, skill development and teamwork. Individual leagues are held for 3rd-4th grade boys, 3rd-4th grade girls, 5th-6th grade boys, 5th-6th grade girls and 7th-8th grade coed. Participants will be able to develop their skills and play with other kids throughout Tracy. Practices may be held on any day of the week, all games are conducted on Saturdays from the middle of December through the middle of February. No previous experience is required. All skill levels are welcome! For more information please call (209) 831-6200.

Coaches’ Timeline Dates and times subject to change.

Are You OK? Program

Vial of Life

The RUOK program allows seniors, disabled and home bound individuals to register for a daily computer generated call to verify their safety and welfare. The registrant chooses and provides the time of day to be called and an emergency contact. If a registrant fails to answer two attempted calls, a public safety dispatcher will send a police officer to check on the individual.

Vial of Life is a free program that allows individuals to have their medical information ready in their home for emergency personnel to reference during an emergency. This program is used to provide the patient’s medical information when a patient is not able to speak or remember this information.

Individuals interested in registering for this service, can call the Tracy Police Department at 831-6614.

Vial of Life is available through the Tracy Fire Department and at the Lolly Hansen Senior Center. For more information call 831-6700.

Calling Senior Volunteers! Get actively involved at the Lolly Hansen Senior Center! Do you have a favorite hobby to teach, or office experience, or would you like to help with bingo?
