Christmas at Concordia: Journey to Bethlehem celebrates 83 years of the Concordia Christmas Concerts, and promises to deliver a stunning choral and orchestral holiday offering. It will air locally this year and will then be seen nationwide on PBS stations in the 2010 holiday season.

This is the fourth national telecast in Concordia history and this production is a's most extensive ever. Our expertise in producing major concert specials was recently honored with an Emmy Award for the 2008 production of Christmas at Luther; we have also produced award-winning Christmas specials for national distribution with St. Olaf College, Augsburg College, the University of St. Thomas and Bethel University.

The program weaves celebratory themes to provide a continuous musical story. The concert features both large and small ensembles, which create a tapestry of music and visual spectacle. In addition, an original art installation measuring 20' high by 120' wide transforms the 3200-seat hall. These mural panels augment the musical story and serve as a backdrop for the 450 musicians.

Nationally recognized composer and conductor René Clausen of Moorhead's Concordia College re-imagines Christmas with new music, taking viewers of all faiths and traditions on this musical journey. Dr. Conductor René Clausen Clausen is one of the nation's leading choral orchestral composers having written over 90 commissioned works for the King's Singers, Mormon Tabernacle Choir, PBS and the American Choral Directors Association.
