FRIENDS OF THE LIBRARY

The Little Elm Friends of the Library is a group of people who are committed to sustaining and improving the Library. Meetings are held the third Wednesday of each month at 7 p.m. Please call or email the library for more information on becoming a Friend.

MAKERSPACE

Whether fun or functional, you supply the creativity, and we’ll supply the tools to bring your creations to life. Learn, imagine, create, and most importantly, make! The Makerspace is free to use by adults 18+ and teens ages 16+ who are Little Elm Public Library cardholders with accounts in good standing (not expired, no fees, or overdue materials).

CHECKOUTS AND RESOURCES

With a library card, you have access to all of the awesome resources that we have to offer.

• Mobile Hotspots. Internet access 24/7! The Library has mobile hotspots that can be checked out for three weeks at a time.

• Microscopes. See things close up and take your science knowledge to a whole new level! Microscopes can be checked out for three weeks each.

• VOX™ Books. The world’s first audio books that live in print! These books combine outstanding picture books with audio recordings to make early literacy development fun! • Telescopes. What’s going on out there? See what else is in the sky with a telescope you can check out! • Lakefront Discovery STEM Backpacks. Get out, discover, and learn! Check out a backpack and go on an adventure in the parks. Learn about nature, bugs and butterflies, and the beach.

• Seed Library. Have a green thumb? Patrons can check out up to eight packets of non- GMO heirloom seeds for six months. After harvest, simply return seeds to the seed library for the next patron to enjoy!

Summer Reading Program at Little Elm Public Library

In-person Summer Reading programs and activities are back for 2022! Join us at the Little Elm Park Amphitheater for our Summer Reading Kickoff on Thursday, June 2, at 11 a.m., for a fun drum circle with Mr. Mark and Dippin’ Dots! In addition to our regular weekly programs, special live programs occur Tuesdays and Thursdays in June and July. Discover periodicals and reference book content designed for both nursing and allied health students, as well as consumer health researchers. • Rocket Languages. Want to learn a new language? Check out these practical online language tools. • cloudLibrary. Check out books online! cloudLibrary makes it easy to find what you need online, using the web, a tablet, or your phone! • Freading. Freading is a new online service for Little Elm Library cardholders to download eBooks to their favorite devices. Freading offers over 11,000 titles in all genres. • ComicsPlus. Find your favorite comics online! • Overdrive Digital Media. Read magazines, watch movies, documentaries, concerts, and classic TV, listen to lectures, take classes, or take ACT or SAT prep classes. • Education Services. We offer a wide range of online education services including GED prep, college test prep, K-12 education, career prep and exams, and classes to improve your reading, writing, and math skills! • Tumblebooks. Online assortment of children’s books, magazines, and videos.
