VOLUNTEER We are currently looking for volunteers to help with Front of House roles. Shift lengths are usually between 2-3 hours and you can volunteer as much or as little as you want.

Even helping out a couple of times a year would help us!

Duties could include: greeting the audience on arrival, selling ice creams during the interval or assisting audience members finding their seats.

In return you will get to watch plays, musicals, dance shows, concerts, and our annual pantomime, for free!

Volunteering with us is a great opportunity to make friends, gain new skills and become part of a thriving community.

We welcome applications from anyone aged 16+. No experience necessary, as full training will be provided and these roles would suit anyone who enjoys working with people.

KEEPING THE SHOW ON THE ROAD TOUR Together for over 25 years, The Jive Aces have been keeping the show on the road for three decades and are renowned worldwide for their high-energy live shows, having toured in over 40 countries.

The World Jazz Live Sessions continue with the brilliant Nye Banfield Quartet. Nye is a graduate of Trinity Laban and combines influences from jazz icons Wayne Shorter, Ambrose Akinmusire, and mentor Mark Lockheart, as well as wider sources of inspiration from the pastoral works of Vaughan Williams, to the songwriting of Damon Albarn.

The band aim to spread smiles and cheer with their swingin’ music and classic vintage style, from crooning smooth ballads to blasting honking rhythm & blues. Having played for Her Majesty the Queen, selling out the Royal Albert Hall, becoming the first band to reach the finals of Britain’s Got Talent or just entertaining at one of their 250 live shows a year, they continuously showcase why they are the UK’s No.1 Jive & Swing band!

Nye takes you on a vivid journey of richly textured composition and lyrical improvisation. Nye’s tenor sound, a focus of his over the last 10 years, is earthy, broad and incredibly expressive, providing a focal point to the band’s combined timbre.

Mr Sleepybum awakes in his bed to find a room full of parents and children. A circus of silly sketches and dream scenes ensues.

From swimming with sharks, to solving the mystery of a stolen chocolate cake to being chased by a frog dressed as a snail, Mr Sleepybum’s imagination is limitless.

Mr Sleepybum is an award-nominated, one-man, physical/character comedy kids show written and performed by character comedian Jody Kamali. Mr Sleepybum was performed at the Edinburgh Fringe in 2023 and received rave reviews from the press and audiences.

The show contains audience participation, music, sound effects and can get quite noisy from the excitement of children and therefore it may not be suitable for children who are neurodiverse.

Happy Box of Imps are back for the seventh time for their improv show featuring local talent, and if you joined us last time, this evening is guaranteed to be completely different. You never know what to expect, and neither do we!

The evening will include short-form scenes and silly games, which are completely unscripted and unplanned. Audience involvement is key – the ideas come from you! Bring along suggestions of scenes you’d like to see, situations, emotions, occupations and random lines you’d like us to include, and see if they make it into the show.

You can expect an interactive evening full of unpredictable dialogue, and lots of laughter!

Remarkably compelling, amazingly detailed and always humorous!

The popular star of TV’s Street Psychic, Psychic Private Eyes and Psychic Academy, Tony Stockwell has a long established credibility as one of the top Intuitive Mediums and has shared the stage all round the world with international mediums such as Colin Fry, James van Praagh and Lisa Williams. Tony demonstrates his belief that those who have passed can communicate with their loved ones with detailed messages, frequently including names, dates and locations and all delivered with emotion, sensitivity and empathy. THE OPERA BOYS A NIGHT AT THE MUSICALS The Opera Boys are back with their sell-out show A Night at the Musicals.

ALISON RAYNER QUINTET WORLD JAZZ LIVE SESSIONS Hosted by Maiuko This multi award-winning quintet is widely celebrated from several years of extensive UK and European touring – and critically acclaimed for their three album releases August (2014) , A Magic Life (2016) and Short Stories (2019).

Their music combines richly nuanced compositions, rhythmic interplay and folkinfused melodies; this, along with their love of improvisation, creates a strong sense of narrative and cinematic quality.

In Richard Alfieri’s poignant comedy, FHODS invites you to a retirees apartment in Florida to witness the developing relationship between Lily Harrison, a ‘take no prisoners’ widow of a conservative baptist minister, and Michael Minetti an acerbic gay dance instructor, newly from New York.

Born from a library music album of compositions, co-composed by leaders Derek and British Jazz Award-winning guitarist Dominic Ashworth, Picante is a Latin band that takes flavours from Buena Vista Social Club, Sergio Mendes, Stan Getz/ Astrid Gilberto, Spyrogyra and the Gypsy Kings, with their unique compositions in mambo, salsa, samba and bossa nova styles.

Guaranteed to make you feel like dancing from the first bar!

WORLD JAZZ LIVE SESSIONS Hosted by Maiuko We’re delighted to welcome back the Tristan Banks Quartet, following a full house show in March 2023. His debut album, View From Above, encapsulates Tristan Banks’ experience as a versatile artist, covering a range of styles that he has been deeply involved with during his career. Though predominantly jazz-led, elements of Latin and fusion influences can be detected, though this never betrays the core purpose.

The Hollies unique harmony vocal sound and unmistakable melodies were a soundtrack for many people and it is recreated here again by ‘The Hijacked Hollies’ in this hit-packed show.

Formed in 2016, The Hijacked Hollies replicate the unique Hollies sound to stunning effect. If you are a big Hollies fan or just enjoy reminiscing about the sounds of the 60s and 70s then this tribute is one not to miss.

VISITOR PARKING We offer free parking on-site, with space for up to 60 vehicles. Please note that these spaces are on a first come, first served basis.

There is also restriction free parking nearby, on Royal Military Avenue.

The Tower Theatre, North Road, Shorncliffe, Folkestone CT20 3HL ACCESS There is an access ramp via the door to the left hand side of the theatre, adjacent to the car park, that brings you onto the same level as the stalls, foyer bar and disabled toilet. Please note the Tower Theatre does not have any lifts. Wheelchair users are accommodated in 4 spaces, in the first row of the stalls (Row A). Additional seating is available next to these spaces for accompanying visitors.

BABES IN ARMS For select shows, infants under 2 may be accommodated on their parent’s or guardian’s lap, and no charge will be made.

For children aged two and over, children’s ticket prices will apply and a seat will be allocated. Please call our box office if you are unsure, prior to booking.

The hearing loop provides a magnetic, wireless signal that is picked up by the hearing aid when it is set to ‘T’ (Telecoil) setting. The hearing loop consists of a microphone to pick up the spoken word; an amplifier which processes the signal which is then sent through the final piece; the loop cable, a wire placed around the perimeter of a specific area i.e. a meeting room, a church, a service counter etc to act as an antenna that radiates the magnetic signal to the hearing aid.

POSTAGE We charge £1 to post tickets, and this will be added on at the time of making the booking. This option is currently only available when booking over the phone.

LATE COMERS We will endeavour to admit latecomers to the auditorium; however, this may mean waiting until the interval.

REFUNDS / EXCHANGES We do not offer refunds or credit notes unless unfortunate circumstances have forced us to cancel a show. However, tickets can be exchanged for an alternative performance of the same show (subject to availability) up to 48 hours before a performance.

GIFT VOUCHERS Gift vouchers are available to purchase by calling our box office. Please note that the voucher will expire 12 months from the date of purchase.
