Baleygr-Janssen Speed R5 Guide
Placement and Effective HP (EHP): Effective HP (EHP): HP/Def compared as a single “stat” to determine a unit’s overall tankiness. EHP’s given are before towers, but assume max HP/Def towers are being used.
Introduction:
This is a mid game R5 team that IF BUILT CORRECTLY will finish in 27 sec. with ~100% consistency. Play with thousands of other players and build a grind box so full you'll need to sell your purple despair speeds for room! To build this team you will need a solid Rage/Will or Fatal/Will set and pertinent artifacts for Baleygr. You will also need Fight/Will runes.

6* and CriDmg on 4 is required if your Baleygr is ~32k. 5* can be used if your Baleygr is 33.5k+. Must have 15% Acc, 81%+ CriRate, be fully skilled, and hit ~7k DMG.

DO NOT build BJR5 if you can’t hit 32k+ and survive. Recommended: Rage/Will - Atk/CriDmg/Atk - 62%+ CriRate Must have 58%+ CriRate and S3 fully skilled.

Speed tuned to go between Baleygr and Janssen. Dagora Desync Insurance, if a team desyncs Dagora prevents an early Janssen revive that would cause a wipe.

5* or 6* depending on your runes and his placement. 6* on FL is recommended. S3 fills 30% Atk bar for each dead ally, preventing the boss from taking a 3rd turn.

Shaina instead of Loren:
Shaina is compatible with BJR5, but Shaina should be transmogged to prevent desyncing, the free transmog works just fine. Unmogged Shaina has a fast S1 and a slow S2 and can desync with Loren and other Shainas. Pros: - Increased Def Break Chance - Benefits from Fire Leads - Needs less CriRate, 58%+ or 62%+ Pros: - Atk Bar Reduction and Slow - F2P Friendly and Easy to Skill Up - 18% Global Atk% Lead

This set up is my personal favorite: “The Foxlery Frontline.” 12 Fight sets and low EHP requirements for your BL. Ideal for max DMG on Loren and Baleygr!

You MUST HAVE A SHIELD SET or you will desync! Who has it does not matter, but on Loren you will likely get more damage.

The reason is Crush of Doom: “Damage increases substantially as the target’s defense decreases.” On Colleen aim for 13k-15k HP and 800-900 Defense, outside these ranges you may die.
Speed Tuning:
Your Baleygr needs at least +27 speed from runes. Any slower the boss can cut between Loren and Baleygr causing a wipe.
If Baleygr is +27 to +30 use the first column to rune the rest of the team, +31 to +40 use the middle column, and +41 or more use the last column. Grey is total speed with your tower bonus. Speed always rounds up. +43 Baleygr with 15% Tower: 102 × 1.15 + 43 = 161 TOTAL Spd

Frequently Asked Questions: Do I need max towers? - No! But the more towers you have the easier it is to build the team. Do I REALLY need ~7k on Loren/Shaina? Do I REALLY need 32k+ Baleygr? - Probably, refer to the above section with the DMG calculator.

Can I use 2A Jultan instead of Loren/Shaina? - Yes and he can FL, but his chance to Def break is worse than Loren/Shaina. Rune him - HP/CriDmg/HP, 150k+ EHP and 1000+ Def. Can I use other units not mentioned in this guide as replacements? - In my opinion, No. Loren/Shaina/Jultan and Transmogs is enough team variability. Should I run BJR4? - In my opinion, No. If you can't run BJR5 your runes and artifacts need work.

Can I use Elsharion lead without Rica lead? - Yes, 3 people with 77%+ CriRate Baleygrs can run Elsharion, Shihwa, and Kahli leads.

My Baleygr and Loren are tanky enough for 2-3man FL, should I use 4man FL? - Yes, I recommend it. My Baleygr has 100k EHP and I use a 4man living FL with Rica. If all - 3 teams miss def break after the jump, my Baleygr can S3 a second time and save the run.

First, make sure your Dagora isn’t TOO tanky, use all white runes and only power up slot 2 spd. If you still have problems, try making him level 2-5. No one knows the source of this glitch so alas, this is not an exact science.

Boss Kills Dagora/Lead
DMG/EHP with Max Towers:
Atk buff starts at 50% and is applied to your total atk after all bonuses. A 1% substat adds 0.5% to the buff, this is 1% of the base 50%. 4% Atk Inc. Effect adds ~430 last hit DMG
3. DMG based on total Atk:
This is flat true damage added to each hit, it is not affected by the target’s defense. The added damage is based on total Atk with all bonuses including Atk buff. DMG by +4% Atk adds ~360 last hit DMG
4. DMG based on total HP/Def/Spd:
0.3 HP/4 Def/40 Spd adds ~60 last hit DMG.
You must NOT use Spd based on lost HP! It will ruin Spd tuning!
Can be used to get 15% Def Break Acc DMG by +4% of Atk adds ~560 total DMG
3. Skill 1 or Skill 2 CriDmg:
For Loren I prefer S1, for Shaina use either 6% S1 CriDmg adds ~170 total DMG 6% S2 CriDmg adds ~200 total DMG.
Can BJR5 monsters be used anywhere else? - Yes! GB12: Lushen (L), Fran, BJR5 Loren, Kro, Sig. GW/Siege: Baleygr (L), Qeb, Katarina/Luer.

I heard Colleen can be runed Fight/Fight/Fight, how do I do this? - You need 33.5k+ Baleygr to be 100% safe, Loren/Shaina will sometimes go before Colleen. - Colleen: +68 to +69 (190-191), Loren: +41 or more, Shaina: +40, Jultan: +26 (159-191), - Baleygr: +29 to +30 (147-148), yes it’s a 2 speed range, Janssen: +17 (129+) after Dagora
Currently there is no way to quantify the exact damage reduction, but if your team is dying this might help. Great for Janssen.
Is it possible to run BJR5 teams with an additional placement (AP)? - Some people use an AP with all branding units, but it will wipe if you miss the brand. - Some use Jamire, Qeb, Imesety, and Katarina with Arang/Shihwa, Elsharion, and Hwa leads.
0.3/4/40% HP/Def/Spd adds ~130 total DMG.
