Pre-May Fair events attract hundreds of people Flamenco May Fair of Torrevieja will take place at the harbour from May 14th to 18th, but the so-called pre-May Fair events have already started, with the announcement speech and a colourful flamenco ‘romería’ route with horses and carriages from the Sacred Heart church to the Monument to the Immaculate Conception at El Cura beach, which attracted hundreds of people. This year, May Fair will include a tribute to the Lolita Sevilla, ‘copla’ singer especially bound to Torrevieja who passed away last year.

Italian strike by the Local Police make fines increase dramatically Most Local Police officers in Torrevieja have started an Italian strike, due to the ‘breach’ of the new schedule agreement by the Town Council. In the last days, fines to

parked cars have increased dramatically in Torrevieja. Officers affirm to be executing ‘mayor’s orders’, since Eduardo Dolón urged them ‘to protest less and work more’.

New accessible park A new accessible park for children with disabilities was inaugurated last Saturday by the Mayor, Eduardo Dolón, and the president for Rotary Club Torrevieja, Gema Cruz, at the ‘Parque de las Naciones’ park. The park has been financed by Rotary Club Torrevieja, aiming to help APANEE charity (Association of Parents of Students with Special Educations Needs). Funds have been raised through the charity ‘Valencian Community Challenge Race’ or the ‘Liga Suma’ regatta.
