THE GAMEDAY SHIRT
On a classic fall Saturday night in the Hub City, there is a legacy that spans over two decades. The tradition has been worn an estimated 6 million times at the Jones. Every year, to the excitement of Tech fans all over the nation, Red Raider Outfitter unveils its original, authentic, and official Wreck ‘Em Tech Game Day t-shirt. This t-shirt started in the 90s as a way to unite the most intimidating fans in college football. This shirt, produced exclusively by Red Raider Outfitter, quickly became the fan’s uniform for Texas Tech
football. Each season we create a piece unlike any from the years before —The Wreck ‘Em tee. Red Raider Outfitter is the home of the original Wreck ‘Em Tech tee. You’ll see other stores try to fake it, but don’t be fooled. After all, imitation is the greatest form of flattery, but there will only be one Wreck ‘Em tee.
Follow the legions of fans as they make their annual pilgrimage to Red Raider Outfitter. This year, you too can get your 24th Edition Game Day shirt and secure your piece of Tech football history. Find yourself amongst the millions of fans, friends, and family roaring at the Jones AT&T Stadium.
The Wreck ‘Em phrase and Official Gameday shirt were conceived over 20 years ago by Red Raider Outfitter founder John Spiegelberg, who had a vision for uniting the fanbase under a tradition that fans could participate in no matter where they were. This idea sprung to life with the Original Wreck ‘Em Gameday Shirt and has continued to grow in the hearts of Tech fans ever since.
The iconic phrase has become so synonymous with Tech fandom that Red Raider Outfitter gifted the beloved trademark to Texas Tech in 2006 and after which it was immediately adopted as an official trademark of the University. With intensive care taken each year in the production of the Official Wreck ‘Em Shirt, you might even call it Red Raider Outfitter’s secret formula. Nobody does it better!
Over the last 2 decades, meticulous craftsmanship has fueled the inception of each Wreck ‘Em design to ensure it captures the fan’s spirit each football season. Just one look at an era-defining Wreck ‘Em can transport you to the excitement of any given season. This official shirt developed by Red Raider Outfitter is an iconic cornerstone that has helped thrust THE JONES AT&T STADIUM into the top 10 toughest College Football stadiums to play in according to FOX SPORTS. We are extremely proud of this year’s limited 24th edition design and can’t wait to see it on your back come gameday in Raiderland. Red Raider Outfitter consistently creates the Official Wreck ‘Em Gameday Shirt as a labor of love that continues to unite Tech Fans Nationwide! Come get yours now so you too can participate in this storied tradition.

Established in 2002, CHROME quickly became the diamond in the rough of West Texas.
As Texans, we are known to cherish our oil fields, cotton rows, cattle, and 10-gallon hats, but our true muse is the original American fashion icon...Buddy Holly. Holly, a Lubbock native, paved way for American fashion in the south and we continue to carry on his legacy through our store.
CHROME is a twist of luxury, a splash of design, and a homage to the original hipster. We are anchored on the exact birth spot of the rock ‘N roll legend. The

Incoming students may know a few basics about the Texas Tech University Library, but who better share valuable insight than current students?
The library’s User Experience Team spends numerous hours each semester working closely with students to learn what the library does well, what needs improvement and how best to facilitate their academic success.
“We want to enhance students’ experiences with the library and to understand expectations and preferences so we can continually improve our services and spaces,” personal librarian Kimberly Vardeman said. “It’s always insightful to hear what current students tell us they wish they had known sooner.”
Based on years of student feedback, here are the top 10 services that Red Raiders believe incoming students should know about:
1. Quiet study areas, group study rooms and other spaces (many reservable) make it the “Best Place to Study,” according to The Daily Toreador
voters
2. Personal Librarians provide research consultations teaching students how to search the databases for their major
3. Document Delivery pulls books from the shelf, scans and emails fulltext articles and provides materials the library does not own — make unlimited requests at no charge
4. Dynamic Media Services loans projectors,
video and GoPro cameras, headphones, audiobooks, anatomy models and more
5. Podcast studios and the Crossroads Recording Studio offer professional equipment to record, edit and produce high-quality audio tracks
6. Library Makerspace offers a hands-on lab and tools for 3D printing, textile work, engraving and includes a Virtual Reality Lab with Oculus Rift headsets
7. Technology includes over 270 computer workstations with the latest software, with printers and scanners throughout the Library
8. Collection comprises over 2 million books (they’re hiding upstairs), plus online access to almost 700,000 e-books and more than 400 research databases
9. Workshops and trainings cover beginner to advanced skills for research, writing, presentations, publishing and more
10. Open late — and 24/7 during finals — and online resources are available 24/7 through the library website
The University Library prides itself on being a student-centric organization.
Serving the student population is the primary objective, and obtaining input from students on an ongoing basis is how the library continues to evolve and enhance the services that are vital to student success. Visit library.ttu.edu to learn more.

When students, faculty and staff at Texas Tech University think of Transportation & Parking, they often picture parking permits and bus routes.
However, Transportation & Parking offers a wide range of programs beyond the basics, promoting safety and fostering community engagement. These services sometimes go unnoticed but can make a big difference in dayto-day campus life.
Giving back: Citation Dismissal Programs
Every year, Transportation & Parking Services collaborates with charitable organizations through programs that allow individuals to turn parking citations into opportunities to give back. A good example is Toys for Tickets, which launches each November in partnership with Shriners Children’s Hospital of Texas.
This initiative allows individuals with campus parking citations to have their fine dismissed by donating new, unwrapped toys (with a receipt matching the citation value). These donations benefit children receiving care during the holiday season.
When campus buses stop running in the evening, students don’t have to walk across campus. Raider Ride is an on-demand shuttle service that operates from 6 p.m. to 2:45 a.m., providing a safe and convenient transportation option across campus.
Students can download the Tech Ride app, select pick-up and drop-off
To request help, call (806) 742-MAPP (6277).
Peace of mind: Car Clinics
Before the long drive home for Thanksgiving and Spring Break, Transportation & Parking hosts free Car Clinics designed to ensure vehicles are road-ready. Professional mechanics conduct full inspections and top off essential fluids while participants enjoy complimentary snacks and drinks during the
at the worst possible times. That’s why
Transportation & Parking offers the Motorist Assistance Program, a free, around-the-clock service for anyone experiencing minor vehicle issues on campus.
MAP services include:
Other similar programs run throughout the year, allowing the Tech community to support meaningful causes while resolving their parking citations.
Transportation after hours: Raider Ride
• Air for a low tire
• A gallon of gas
• Jump start
• Vehicle unlock
Assistance is available 24/7, excluding university holidays, and is free for up to three calls per year.
These clinics offer a convenient way for students and staff to prioritize vehicle safety before traveling.
Supporting cyclists: Bike
Once each semester, Bike Clinics are hosted in partnership with the Outdoor Pursuits Center, providing free bike inspections and minor tune-ups from experienced mechanics.
In addition, riders can register their bikes with Transportation & Parking Services, connect with Lime representatives and visit with representatives of the Texas Tech Police Department.
Tech’s Transportation & Parking Services offers more than just the basics. The wide range of services provided are designed to make campus life safer and more convenient for you, so don’t forget to take advantage of them. For more information, visit the Transportation & Parking website at www. depts.ttu.edu/parking.
The Texas Tech Parents Association is a volunteerled organization where families help families by providing programs, events, services and support for Tech students, staff and their loved ones.
Our mission is to help parents and students stay connected throughout their college journey.
We recently hosted our annual Faculty and Student Awards Ceremony, a tradition since 1976. This year, we honored eight faculty members, two staff and 11 student leaders for their
excellence, leadership and dedication to the Red Raider community.
Family Weekend — our most popular event — will be Oct. 24–26 and includes Friday Night Dinner sidelined by the Off-Campus Housing Fair and Scholarship Fundraiser, a Saturday tailgate and the Red Raider football game against Oklahoma State. Hotel rooms for this weekend will fill quickly, so book early.
Throughout the year, we also host a variety of oncampus outreach events, including our fall Keep the
Vibe Alive postcard event, where students send messages and postcards back home. We plan to continue these outreach efforts this year with care packages and special events designed to help students feel connected to home while away at college.
Each spring, the TTPA also offers thousands of dollars in student scholarships. Applications are available in four categories: entering freshmen, returning undergraduate students, new transfer students and graduate students. TTPA
scholarships are awarded based on a variety of factors including academic merit, financial assistance, field of study and quality of essays. Watch our website in upcoming months for more information on how to apply.
Visit texastechparents. org for details on all of our programs and services, to get involved or to become a member. Volunteers are always welcome.
Follow us on Instagram (@texastechparents) and Facebook (Texas Tech Parents Association) to stay connected.
All students are encouraged to become involved outside the classroom to enhance their connections and experiences as Red Raiders. One of the best ways to make connections is through joining a student organization on campus.

Students looking for opportunities to utilize the knowledge gained in the classroom will want to explore the opportunities offered at The Daily Toreador.
Conveniently located on the first floor of the Media & Communication building, Toreador Media is home to the primary sources of student-produced news at Texas Tech: the dailytoreador.com website, The Daily Toreador’s social media platforms – Instagram, X, YouTube and Facebook – and The DT’s print edition, as well as a handful of other publications.
Student learning is part of the primary mission of Toreador Media, which operates within the College of Media and Communication.
Here, students may apply knowledge from the classroom in practical settings to produce campus and local news, sports and entertainment coverage and content.
The DT is an official student publication as designated by the Texas Tech University Board of Regents. The publication serves as a medium of mass communication for the campus while offering experiential learning opportunities for any student, regardless of major or previous experience.
The DT, along with other products created within Toreador Media, provides outside-
of-the-classroom learning activities and is student-run, meaning student editors are responsible for content and student personnel decisions.
The publication employs 30-50 paid staffers each semester – reporters (news, features and sports), photographers/videographers, editors, bloggers, puzzle creators, and social media and graphics personnel. Columnists and cartoonists, both volunteer positions, round out the newsroom team.
Published work is regularly entered in national, state and regional collegiate media competitions. During the past year, DT staffers and publications earned numerous awards, including:
• Silver Crown, Columbia Scholastic Press Association
• Pacemaker finalist, Associated Collegiate Press
• Three Best of Show Awards, Associated Collegiate Press/College Media Association
• Two staff members named to The New York Times’ 2024-2025 Times Corps program
• One staff member took the top award in the Sports Portfolio category, College Photographer of the Year
• Photojournalist of the Year, Texas Intercollegiate Press Association
Sidelining traditional newsroom activities, DT stu-
dents in recent years have organized monthly volunteer opportunities in which many of our staffers choose to participate. The popular team-building program won multiple awards during the past academic year.
The Daily Toreador
Initially printed in 1925 as The Toreador, today’s Daily Toreador is an independent media outlet serving the Tech community. As it has since its creation, The DT strives to maintain professional standards and ethics, reflecting the best in American journalism.
During the fall and spring semesters, The DT publishes daily on social media and online. It also distributes 6,000 copies of its once-a-month print issue via racks located in most academic buildings. There is no cost to pick up a copy.
During the summer sessions, The DT publishes online and produces several specialty publications. These include Raider Life, which is mailed out to incoming freshmen and transfer students, and Raiderland, designed to give Tech students insight into the academic year ahead.
The DT, which started out as The Toreador, is one of the oldest student organizations on campus, having published its inaugural edition two
hours after the first Tech football game on Oct. 3, 1925. Toreador Media is gearing up for the publication’s 100-year observance during the upcoming fall semester – you’ll want to participate in some of our celebratory activities.
The Newsroom
Student staffers work to cover a wide range of topics –from campus news to insight into city operations impacting Tech; features pertaining to all facets of student life; a broad overview of Tech’s men’s and women’s sports teams; and student opinions on subjects of interest to the campus community.
All decisions regarding editorial content are the responsibility of the student editor.
This year’s editor-in-chief is Jacob Lujan, a creative media industries major. Serving as managing editor is Aynsley Larsen, a journalism major.
Digital Media
The Daily Toreador’s website offers breaking news, slideshows, videos, blogs, editorials, columns and other timely content. The publication also distributes content daily on social media.
Look for The DT’s email newsletter, which will be introduced later this year.

Be a Part of our Team
Any student interested in journalism or related studies should consider working for The DT. We employ staff members from majors across campus. And it’s never too late to join the newsroom team, whether it’s your first semester at Tech or your last.
And while the bulk of hiring is done prior to the start of the fall semester, applications are accepted throughout the year. Occasional hires are made throughout each semester as the publication’s needs ebb and flow.
The DT provides students valuable on-the-job training that can be applied in any industry – improving one-on-one communication; honing writing, editing and broadcasting skills; sharpening photography and videography production; and gaining valuable leadership and management experience. Want to know more? Drop by the Toreador Media offices in Room 180 in the COMC Rotunda during regular business hours on any weekday. We’re always happy to hear from potential staff members. We will either give you a quick newsroom tour and an overview of our operations, or we can set up a time to do so at a time that is more convenient for you. Already sold on The DT and want to work with us? Visit our website, www.dailytoreador.com, and look for the Work for Us tab in the upper right-hand corner. Fill out a simple form, attach your resume and, if applicable, a few work samples. Then hit send. You’re done! We’ll get back to you as quickly as we can.
