King David Ein Gedi is a place King David Dav visited. Just at the edge of Jerusalem Jerusalem, the hills slope steeply towards the desert. Je Jerusalem is thousands of feet above sea llevel, but only a east, the des desert is more than few miles to the east a thousand feet below sea level. This is the t lowest place on Earth! Judean Desert gets almost no rain. The Ju Nothing grows there, and all you can see is lots Nothi and lots lo of bare earth and stones. When David was a boy he defeated Goliath his sling. He became the harpist to King with h Saul, the first king of Israel. He grew up to be great general. Saul grew jealous of David a gr and an tried to kill him. David ran away. He went we to Ein Gedi. Saul chased him there. David hid in a cave and escaped. After Saul Da was killed in battle, David became the next king of Israel. The Bible tells us that David used his harp to write the Psalms. us 23
