PRINTING TECHNIQUES
DIGITAL PRINTING
With digital printing, the design is applied directly to a flat surface. The four basic full-colour inks (CMYK) are mixed, allowing the printer to produce any desired print – from full colour to photorealistic images.
3D DIGITAL PRINTING
3D digital printing is similar to standard digital printing, but with an extra layer of resin over the print. This resin layer gives the print a glossy and tactile threedimensional effect. 3D digital printing is mainly used on rubberised soft-touch pens.
PAD PRINTING
Pad printing is a commonly used stamping technique, especially for promotional gifts. The design is applied to a metal cliché. A separate cliché is required for each colour. A rubber pad (image carrier) transfers the design from the cliché and prints it onto the item. Thanks to various pad shapes, it is possible to print on both flat and curved surfaces.
SCREEN PRINTING / CIRCULAR SCREEN PRINTING
Circular screen printing is a specific form of screen printing, intended for printing on round or cylindrical objects. During the process, the item is often rotated to ensure even printing. This technique is mainly used on writing instruments.
LASER ENGRAVING
In laser engraving, the design is engraved into the surface of the material using a computer-controlled laser. This removes the top layer and reveals the underlying layer. This technique is suitable for materials such as glass, ceramics, metal, Tritan and wood.
2-TONE LASER ENGRAVING
With 2-tone laser engraving, the second colour is engraved deeper, creating a darker and more contrasting effect. This results in a more dynamic and attractive design and is often used for personalised products.
