1. Linda, your passion for modeling began in Houston,

Texas as a model for designer, Ann Goldman.
How did your love for modeling begin and what has your journey been like?
I didn’t have a love for Modeling: it came to me. I was approached three times about modeling. I was a PK kid (Preacher’s Kid) my
Father said NO! I was satisfied with being a Tomboy or singing.
But, thanks to Ms. Goldman who saw more than I did. Being six foot tall and a size 8. It was easy for me to get in the industry.
And I found a new love!
2. In your perspective, how has the modeling agency changed since your start in the 1980’s to now in 2022?
The game didn’t change, the player’s did! Back in the 80’s we were excited, energized, we listened, and followed directions.

3. You founded your consulting and special events company, LS 1426, that emphasizes the plus size industry in 2007. How important is that people of all shapes and sizes are represented in the fashion industry?
In 2007, LS1426 was established to show the world that not only standard models should be on the runway. In the audience you will see plus size women looking to find what was the trend. But, we did not have not one Plus Model ripping that runway apart. Billions of dollars were being spent from the plus community. A CHANGE HAD TO COME!
4. There are numerous fashion shows you produced such as “Oh
What A Night” in 2007 and 1426 Fashion Week in 2011. What does it take to produce a fashion show that people will never forget?
TEAMWORK AND LOTS OF
PLANNING!
5. The LS 1426 Organization has had some amazing hosts like Kim Fields,
Curtis Von and Carla
Mays for your special Tea
Parties. The organization also strives to teach people about self-love and selfesteem through a boot camp process. Tell me a little more about the organization and how people can help.

Models: Lauretta & Lawrence Sipping Tea With A Purpose “Continuous Love” was found to assist kids who had lost a parent/parents prior to graduating High School to let them know that they were still in love. We took it to the community for help to let them know that our Future Leaders of tomorrow needs their help. We got attorneys, doctors, dentist, counselors, and people who just wanted to help.
6. You mentioned that many of the problems women have today revolve around selfesteem and health issues. What’s a piece of advice you can share about how our community can make a positive impact on women who are experiencing these challenges?
Well I always believe that it takes a village to raise a child. It takes a few minutes to help mold a child. Let’s not talk about them but talk to them! An ear and a compliment goes a long way! “Don’t reach for the stars, reach above the stars!
Anyone can reach for the
