Timeekah’s Early Years

Everyone has their own unique beginning and a unique way of coming to where they currently are in life. As a thankful individual, Timeekah was born in Newark, NJ and raised in the Bronx by her grandmother. Along with other siblings and cousins alike, she grew up without her parents, who were absent because of their battle with drugs. She was looking forward to what she would do post-service after dedicating about 12 years of her life to the military. She was planning for a basketball career, but that dream ended early because of an injury. Her fashion story started in 2010

when she taught herself how to sew. According to her, fashion was not something she had planned to do. Rather, it was something that fell on her lap. Because of her personality and the kind of structural training she received during her years of service, she was able to immerse herself in fashion and carve a place for her brand.

Alani Taylor Fashion

After the birth of her daughter in 2016, Timeekah renamed her fashion business to Alani Taylor – her daughter’s name. This is to make sure that she is creating a tangible entity that she can pass on to her daughter in due time. Timeekah’s fashion business has created some of the top fashion statements that keep people in awe during runway shows. She worked on a collaborative effort with Deviant La Vie for different projects by Beyoncé. One of her most brilliant statement pieces was an all white dress she created for the Queen B in the 2020 musical film, Black is King. Individuals who saw the dress on TV attended a fashion show where the dress was previously showcased on the runway. This was such an exciting time for Timeekah that she permanently damaged her voice from celebrating her success on this amazing project. Having worked with Beyoncé before on previous projects, Timeekah worked hard to ensure that her name was mentioned to the public for others to recognize her creative direction and brand. She has also worked with a plethora of A-List celebrities from Kash Doll to Cardi B to create trendsetting custom outfits for their award appearances. Her most recent project was an HBOⓇ project where she got to showcase her talent on a show called, The Hype. According to Timeekah, she always emphasizes that new designers should get involved in getting their ideas out to the world. She encourages continuous improvement and not boxing themselves in by the pseudo fashion rules.

Upcoming Projects by Alani Taylor Fashion

Timeekah is always working on a couple of projects simultaneously. However, some projects are top priority at this moment. Some of these projects include The

Lab – a manufacturing company based in Atlanta, Georgia where Timeekah teaches kids and youth on the weekends how to sew and use other fashion skills. The knowledge and sessions taught at The Lab are things that are not constantly taught at design schools, therefore allowing her students to explore the tools and lessons they need to succeed as a small business owner. Here, she implements structural fashion programs to help her students monetize the gift that they have in the fashion industry. The same mechanisms she taught herself in the army is what she wants to translate to her work as far as having the opportunity to teach others. Later in the year, her business is headlining some fashion shows in the United States where she will be putting out some of her fashion designs. She is also being booked for different fashion shows while working on her own collection. There is also an upcoming tote carry and Alani Taylor bag collaboration lined up that is expected to be out later in the year. Final words
