15TH August Independence Day Celebration Introduction of IndependenceIndependence day is celebrated every year on 15th August. We became independent in the year 1947. Before independence British rule all over India. On this day we have got freedom from Britishers. So, every year we celebrate this day as independence day. The battle was driven from Indian National Congress (INC) and other political and non-political persons who compelled with Britishers to free India from almost 200 years of slavery.

On 15th August 1947, Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru was honored and became the first Prime Minister of Independent India. On that day in 1947, he raises our National Flag over Lahori Gate at Red Fort in Delhi. After that, in the same way, every year on the same date flag hoisting is done by the Prime Minister of India from the same platform where the First Prime Minister Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru raises the flag in the year 1947. On this day Prime Minister Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru delivered the Tryst With Destiny proclaiming India’s Independence.

How Independence Day is celebrated?On this day National Holiday is granted all over India.
