Each of these new tuners allow users to connect an ipod, iphone, portable Mp3 player, USb device or alternatively insert either an SD or SDHc card. The SD card slot is located discreetly behind the front panels on each of the units, and allows for Mp3, WMa, Wav and aac files to be played from the card. all three new models are also designed as the most dynamic solution to connect and improve playback performance for ipods and iphones. With iPod Direct Control, consumers can connect their iPod straight to the tuner’s front USB terminal and take charge of their music from behind the wheel and as a handy extra, the iPod will charge while connected. to make searching and selecting tracks from various sources more convenient, the Deh-7200SD and Deh-5200SD come with a Full-dot Blue oel Display that shows three lines of information. oel technology also allows for wide viewing angles, active 3D visuals and high contrast and brightness, even in sunlight. key iPod and mobile audio player features, such as artist/album/track selection and playlist access, are simply commanded. all of these functions are managed through an optional remote or Pioneer’s single rotary Commander. on top of the functionality of these units is the emphasis Pioneer have put on sound quality. the superior audio performance of these new SD CD tuners arises from an intelligent mix of technologies. the units incorporate a 24-bit Delta Sigma D/a converter along with proprietary advanced Sound retriever technology. With around two months left before the doors open to 2010’s M.E.N Expo there isn’t a lot of time left for you to get your free trade tickets booked. In case you’ve missed out on what’s happening at this year’s event though, here’s a run-down of
the new format and the benefits attending the show can bring for you. With Saturday 6th March allocated to the set-up of stands for exhibitors, the first day for visitors will be Sunday 7th March and it will be slightly different to previous years.
aUTo SoUND & STylE SHoW, SUNDay 7TH MarcH, 2010 Due to demand from exhibitors at previous M.e.n expo events, this year will see the general public allowed to visit the show. this will be restricted to just the Sunday, with the Monday reverting to a purely trade-only event. the benefit of this from a dealer’s point of view is that if you’re too busy at your shop on the Monday to attend, all the same exhibitors will be there on the Sunday for you to talk with. obviously though there will be more to do too, as the show is set to be the perfect season opener for the car audio enthusiast. Some of the country’s top audio installers will be on hand to explain and demonstrate to visitors just how to set a system up for maximum effect. there’s even the Car Clinic where the guys from turners will diagnose visitors’ installs and let them know how they can be made even better. there’ll also be the chance to see some of the Uk’s loudest and cleanest sounding cars compete in the opening round of the eMMa Uk championship, showing off how real sound addicts go at it. on top of all of this there’s also a competition to win a £10k tuning, styling and audio makeover for one lucky visitor’s car, which is sure to attract a huge amount of entries. the auto Sound and Style show is being heavily promoted at the moment and over the next few months in Future Publishing’s automotive titles; Fast Car, redline, total Vauxhall and Fast Ford, as well as on local radio, but as a dealer you can also benefit from promoting it. Previous years have shown that this is a great opportunity for dealers to meet new suppliers and discuss the opening of accounts. often there are companies or products that dealers may not know about or have simply over-looked as they’ve been too busy. this show allows for time to be taken to see all the major distributors and together figure out a strategy for a profitable 2010. INSTANT EXPERT steelmate parking sensors in mitsubishi lancer 2009
Each month the expert installer team at VCE aim to show to you how to make your car installs easier. Whether it’s hands-free systems, reverse parking sensors or entertainment, VCE and M.E.N. will walk you through what you can expect to find behind the dash of your next job. Importantly, we show you how to pick up power points, how to remove panels (without breaking anything) and where the kit should be mounted. Whenever available, we also like to suggest the part numbers for the job in hand. This month we are installing parking sensors into the new Mitsubishi Lancer. Carried out by Paul Carpenter, it is now a nice easy install with nothing left to catch you out. STEP 1: There is no need to remove the bumper as it can all be done with it in place. To start, remove floor mat and then remove slam trim this is held in with two plastic tabs one in each corner just above spare wheel which just unscrew then pull upwards as the top part is held in with plastic tabs.
The plastic trim on nearside towards the back seat which supports the floor mat has two plastic trim buttons and one 10mm bolt once these are taken out this can then be removed. You can then move the carpet trim out of the way.
STEPS 4 AND 5: This will reveal a load of empty space where you can store the main unit and also a good location to secure any tracking systems, and more to the point the grommet for cable entry. STEPS 6 AND 7:
We found placing the inner sensors 20cm from centre and then the outers 40cm from inners. Reverse feed is white wire nearside which is in the loom that runs behind seatbelt housing. Picture below is where we secured main box with the double sided pad and cable tie.
