A Specialist Performing Arts School and College

Dear Students Thank you for your interest in The Boswells College. College students play an important part in the wider life of the 11 – 18 school community, adding immeasurably to the school's ethos and its excellent reputation. College students enrich school life in many ways and provide aspirational role models for those in other school years. Joining the College ensures that you will continue your education to a higher level in an environment that blends first class teaching and tutorial provision with the benefits of more flexible, self-directed study. Courses are offered in a wide variety of subjects and at different levels so that there is something for students' different interests and levels of ability. Standards and expectations are extremely high in the College and I am very proud of the excellent results that are achieved by Boswells' students. Nevertheless, the breadth of the education that is offered is as important as examination success, and our students benefit from a wide range of opportunities and experiences that enable them to play a full role in the school and wider community, and prepare them for life beyond school. We recognise that we live in a fast-paced, rapidly changing society, in a world where citizenship is no longer constrained by national boundaries but is truly international. This global dimension is an important aspect of the education we offer and has been recognised by the school being awarded The International School Award by The British Council. I am delighted that the numbers of students applying for and studying in the College are growing year by year. This reflects the quality of the education that is provided and the confidence students have that the support and opportunities they will receive will give them the qualifications and experiences they need to successfully move on to higher education or employment. I am confident you will find courses to suit your needs and aspirations. Please speak with me and other staff so that we might offer help and advice to inform your decision-making. The decision you make now will set you up for your future success. I look forward to receiving your application form to study in the College and do so confident in the education and opportunities we are able to offer.
