DAY 1 NEW YORK CITY TO WASHINGTON DC (VIA PHILADELPHIA). There’s only two words to care about today: Philly Cheesesteak. The concept is simple—beef, cheese and bread—but a stop at the home of this deliciousness is essential. Sleep off your meat coma and wake up in DC for a tour of the US capital’s illuminated monuments. (D) DAY 2 WASHINGTON DC (FREE DAY). Be a mall rat of a different kind today, hanging out at the US Capitol Building, Reflecting Pool and War Memorials in National Mall. DC is the land of memorials, museums and monuments so don your best hipster specs and carb up on culture. (B) DAY 3 WASHINGTON DC TO CHARLOTTE, NC. If you don’t know what hush puppies are yet, you’re about to find out as we head south to North Carolina and enjoy some good ol’ Southern Hospitality. (B,D) DAY 4 CHARLOTTE TO SAVANNAH, GA. In Savannah you can take your beer or cocktail “to go” as long as it’s in a plastic cup, but before you get too festive, remember tonight's optional ghost tour of one of America’s most haunted cities.
