This kind of study can be seen as an alternative approach towards planning a development. Conventionally, all the infrastructure and services are designed in order to upscale a particular economic activity. For example. Tea plantation is set up in large area. Since the international market drives its production, it is produced even if it is generating loses for the manufacturer. People associated with the production of single crop tends to face the consequences led by the market. Whereas if tea from the beginning was produced with the sustenance model, everybody associated with the production of it will not face the consequences of market fluctuation adversely. Since the market rate is something which is in nobody’s control, things that we can control for our wellbeing, we must understand the implications of our actions first. A simulation tool produced as result of this study can be used to understand the long term implications of our interventions.
