Dental analgesic paste mainly anesthetic - Emla速 5% cream contains two amide-type local anesthetics, lidocaine 2.5% and prilocaine 2.5% (Fig.3). Prilocaine and lidocaine are classified as amidetype local anesthetics for which serious adverse effects include methemoglobinemia. Although the hydrolyzed metabolites of prilocaine (o-toluidine) and lidocaine (2,6-xylidine) have been suspected to induce methemoglobinemia. When the parent compounds (prilocaine and lidocaine) were incubated with human liver microsomes (HLM), methemoglobin (Met-Hb) formation was lower than when the hydrolyzed metabolites were incubated with HLM.3 - Medijel速 gel active ingredients: . lidocaine hydrochloride and aminoacridine hydrochloride. .
