July has been as expected and it’s not getting any cooler out in the near future. Please be safe while riding in this heat. Drink lots of water and be sure to always have your rain gear ready. You must plan a little better during these months of the year. If it does start to rain be sure to pull over somewhere safe where a car will not veer off and hit you on the side of the road. Be safe and be smart.

Full Throttle is working towards branching out and would like to get more into jeeps, trucks, boats, or anything with a motor. We have always been a motorcycle magazine, but Full Throttle can mean anything with a throttle. If you have an event, we can help promote it whether it is a motorcycle event, jeep crawl, fishing tournament or even motorcycle or car races. We have over 154,000 likes on our Facebook page, and they all love the same things we love, going fast and making noise. You can always contact me at 727-919-1743 as my cell is always on, or you can email me at tonyc@floridafullthrottle.com.

This month’s cover is very cool as it is Moramoto Tampa, and they are offering Bucs tickets with any powersports machine purchase until August 26th. They are going to have a tailgate party at their location on Dale Mabry Highway with free food and drinks, along with games and slow races. Then we will be heading over to the Buc’s preseason game against the Baltimore Ravens. As a huge Buc’s fan I hope they have a great season, but with an all new quarterback, Baker Mayfield, and lots of new faces, who knows how they are going to be this year. Either way this is going to be a lot of fun at Moramoto Tampa. Full Throttle will be there, and we hope you will all be there as well!

Let’s go Bucs!

Diesel’s Bike Night has been huge and it’s only getting bigger and better each month. For August we had to back up to the second Thursday because the Full Throttle Staff will be in Sturgis for a Bike Show at the Buffalo Chip on August 4th. So, bike night this month will be om Thursday August 10th. With our amazing attorney’s, Denmon Pearlman Law, help we are giving away 3 Kayaks at next month’s bike night so be sure to come out and try and win one! These are great kayaks from Dick’s Sporting Goods, and they come with a paddle, that is normally separate. Diesel’s amazing food, a great atmosphere and is very easy to find right on US 19 in Palm Harbor. Vendors are Free for the next few months still and be sure to come out for the slow races and join in. It’s a lot of fun and the crowds love watching everyone balance their bikes and try to win. See you on August 10th for the Next Bike Night at Diesel’s Garage.

Biketoberfest is right around the corner, and we are already amping up the bike shows over in Daytona Beach. We are going to start this year on Thursday night at the Grandview Live with our nighttime bike and audio show. This is a lot of fun because you get into the club for Free if you register a bike in the show. They have a ton of beautiful women at this club, and it is very easy to spend a few hours here for a bike show. The next day is Friday and that is always the BOARDWALK BIKE SHOW down on the Daytona beach boardwalk. We usually get between 100 – 150 bike is the Biketoberfest show, and it is always one of the biggest shows of the year. No doubt, it will do it again this year as the scenery with your bike sitting on the Daytona beach boardwalk is one of the best locations to have a bike show. Our Third bike show this year will be out at Teddy Morse’s Harley under the pavilion. We are partnering up with Kory Souza and this is a ride in No Class “CASH” bike show. It’s going to be $50 per bike and you will have a chance to win over $3,000 in cash and prizes. There will be a custom Kory Souza trophy and $50 for the best in bike show. Also, the top 10 voted bikes win $250 cash and special trophies also. All bikes enter, no classes, Cash prizes. Full Throttle can always be found at Occ Bert’s Barracuda and Quaker steak and Lube! Wednesday is always The Lube Bike night, and now Thursday has become the Occ Roadhouse Bike Night. Both are nice, and you can find Full Throttle next to the Fran Haasch booths. Be safe, be smart, don’t drink and ride and I’ll see you soon!

The Diva Angels Herricane Chapter was started to reach women motorcycle enthusiasts in North Pinellas/ Oldsmar/North Tampa. We usually ride North and Northeast, but we have been known to go wherever a run we are supporting may lead us. We try not to make it about the destination but about the journey, comradery, fun, and the empowerment of riding on our own. We are a small group compared to the established chapters, but we are open to women who want to share the riding experience with us and part of a sisterhood.

We participated in the “Cereal for Summer” cereal drop-off to help support food insecure children while school is out. Other treks, the Arcadia festival, we met up with our Pasco sisters and rode to Leesburg bike fest, the Rosie Riveter run, and the “Tail of the Gecko”. You can also find us riding

across Florida and beyond.

Come out and meet us where we have a booth on the 1st Thursday of each month @ Diesel Garage Grill & Bar Bike night sponsored by Personal Injury Attorney Denmon Pearlman Law and Full Throttle. Aside from meeting some of us, there is a great crowd and a slow bike race where our own Julie has competed in and won! Also, we have our chapter meetings at 10am the 2nd Saturday of each month at the Day break Café Tarpon, 1981 N Pinellas Ave, FL 34689. Come have breakfast with us and find out where we plan to ride next. Check out our website http://www.divaangels.org to find a chapter near you, Visit us on Facebook at https://www. facebook.com/daherricane, or YouTube, “Lexesanity” channel to follow our events, shenanigans, and join in with us when you can. We are a 501c (7) not for profit organization.

What’s going on my people out here in the biker community!! it’s been an exciting month with our Bike events. For those bikers who did not attend the Soaked & Sore A$$ Poker Ride to Islamorada you missed a real challenging ride . Every biker had an opportunity to ride south towards Islamorada or sit and wait out the storms .. A few took off and rode the storm other just chilled out and enjoyed Rockstar Harley Davidson, other were enjoying the Bikini Contest at Burt’s Black Widow.. unfortunately, I took off from Quaker steak and lube at 9:30 AM and didn’t arrive to Last Chance bar in Homestead till 4 PM. I have to say it was quite challenging for me trying to get there by 3 PM at 90 mph in the rain, visibility was very bad but I took the challenge and rain into every storm .. I did arrive Soaked but not with a Sore A$$..Congratulations to all our participants on that Poker Ride and even the Bikers that came in from Georgia!! Kuddos cause one of them took home $500!!

Mentioning

$50O !! I was volunteered into being a contestant in a hot bod contest at Gator Harley Davidson 30 dirty Anniversary Party where I competed against 2 muscle athletes…. And me..?? The only workout I do is cleaning my bike .. well guess what I won the crowd and walked away with $300 after donating $100 to the Knam Knights MC and $100 for a fireman’s orphans group.. it was a awesome feeling I must say. I will mention this again sadly I say … please try to hydrate as much as y’all can, and wear helmets sad to say from last month we’ve had fatalities with bikers going down. As as much as anybody would disagree with me, helmets can help you survive a fall or severe accident. I truly miss biker friends not with us anymore and it sucks ..

before I end this, I will mention Divas and Stilletos helping us out on these events that we’ve been having.. Thank you and to all our Biker Community also for supporting FloridaFull Throttle Magazine.. hope to see y’all at Sturgis!! Be safe keep your head on a swivel!

Love N Peace !!

I personally have never spent time reading movies or documentaries critics/reviews. Sorry. I never wrote one either. I would not pretend to be able to write such work on a professional levels. Yet here I am literally compelled on a July 4th 2023 to write about a deeply inspiring documentary. I stumbled upon “Hitting the Apex” and I must share.

From the moment I hit play, this work of art grabbed my attention. I was on the edge of my seat for so many reasons. The photography is unparalleled. Calculated, planned composition of images and shots from angles to perspectives to colors and, edits. The music evokes a sense of connection through the entire 138 minutes making it easy to fully appreciate what is seen in combination with the words we hear from the narrator and all characters. The tone of voice from the narrator who is none other than Brad Pitt is intentionally hypnotic and introspective. That helps the viewers connect to the biker’s mind. This documentary can help those unfamiliar with riding come to understand or at the very least appreciate the eternal question of “why we ride”. It became obvious to me every single word written by director/ producer Mark Neal were chosen with precision to intentionally engage your mind on every level and at every moment. In this documentary you learn about riding, about racing, about parenting, about dreams and what it takes, about risks/rewards, about discipline, life and, death etc... You learn about the brilliant deeply moving excellence of this life. I would give this masterful documentary five star for all the

reasons above. My only critique is that I enjoyed it so much I found the 138 minutes too short.

The documentary begins with a very young 9 year old racer (Stefano Franz) racing a mini bike with Pitt describing Franz’s dad as Stefano’s “crew chief” … “This is how it begins…”

The viewer is instantaneously hooked by nostalgia of child vs father and mother relationship intertwined with the sport. Then the scene switches to Valentino Rossi interacting with his crew as visual background and Pitt’s voice reeling you in for good. Each statement from the narrator is tied into a scene that takes you there in that very realm helping you to make the connection.

One of the best introductory scene to me was when you see the track from the bike’s perspective facing curves backed up with Pitt soothingly describing… in detail… the state of mind of the biker… at every… moment.

“A motorcycle racer and his crew chief… And his race engineers…and his suspension engineer…and his tire engineer…and his electronics engineer…and his mechanics…looking for speed. From the smallest mini-moto track to the fastest grand prix circuit, from little bikes that cost a few hundred to MotoGP missiles that cost millions. From 20-mile-an-hour childhood thrills to 220-mile-an-hour grand prix battles. The principle remains the same. Find the fastest line around the track. And then figure out how to go faster. Grand prix motorcycle racing is the process of

turning fire into speed. The combustion of fuel and air in the engine and the fire in the

heart of a rider willing to risk everything to win. Time is the enemy. The fractions of a second lost or gained in every corner which add up to defeat or victory. And the few years that you have to make it to the top and try to stay there. This is what you have to do. Brake as late as possible. Stay wide. Turn. Hit the apex. Accelerate. Brake. Lean... further. Faster. Stay on the motorcycle. Hit the apex. Accelerate. Stay on the motorcycle. Crashing... hurts. It wrecks your bike. It wrecks your body. It wrecks your chances. Stay... on... the bike. And fight. Every lap. Every corner. Every second. In 18 races around the world. Flat out for over 2,000 miles each season. Fight to the finish. Fight to the top.” “Hitting the Apex” https://hittingtheapexmovie.com/ was written, directed and produced by Mark Neal. Brad Pitt who is also a motorcycle enthusiast is listed as a producer as well. The documentary can be viewed on iTunes / Apple TV, Amazon, Google Play, Playstation Video, Xbox/Microsoft Video, Vudu. Neal and Pitt’s work takes you into the lives of six true legendary bike racers: Marc Marquez, Valentino Rossi, Jorge Lorenzo, Casey Stoner, Marco Simocelli (RIP) and, Dani Pedrosa. It is masterfully intertwined with in part two touching stories from which the viewers can learn life lessons. One lesson is of fierce competitive rivalries involving Lorenzo and Simoncelli who both

display gladiator-like skills and superior diplomacy. The other lesson is of a deeply rooted friendship and mentorship between Rossi and Simoncelli.

So what did I do for the rest of my July 4th you might ask? Well…I looked at every piece of work/ documentary from Mark Neal. I binged living vicariously through it all the entire day. No regrets! Every single documentary has been worth my time. May I ask for an “Isle of Man TT” www.iomttraces.com or, a “North West 200” www.northwest200.org documentary maybe Mr. Neal? My only request would be that you chose Angelina Jolie as narrator.

As a last note, when do we get our own Isle of Man TT or North West 200 style race here on USA grounds?

Mark Neale is a British documentarian and film director based in Los Angeles, California. His best-known work is the 1999 documentary No Maps for These Territories, which profiled cyberpunk author William Gibson. Prior to No Maps, Neale had been an acclaimed music video director, making videos for artists such as U2, Paul Weller and Counting Crows. In 2003, Neale wrote and directed Faster, a documentary on the MotoGP motorcycle racing world championship, and its sequel The Doctor, the Tornado and the Kentucky Kid in 2006.

William Bradley "Brad" Pitt (born December 18, 1963) is an American actor and film producer. He is the recipient of various accolades, including two Academy Awards, two British Academy Film Awards, two Golden Globe Awards, and a Primetime Emmy Award. What do a world famous nude photographer named “Lucky Cole" , world famous author Tim Dorsey and a Biker Speakeasy deep in the Everglades have in common?

More than you think!

So I was looking for private land to hunt on ( the rules are easier ) and I came across a post to hunt python in a spot I knew well. I had no idea I was about to meet a real live legend,a man so unique and colorful that his personality and namesake are used in 3 books by author Tim Dorsey. I met “Lucky Cole" along with his exotic wife Maureen, featured as “Molly” in the book series too..And it gets better. They run a Biker speakeasy off Loop Road in the Everglades! He is also a world renowned nude photographer, Maureen is his assistant.

Lucky invited us to their slice of paradise, so we headed off, my BFF Brenda and I to meet this legend ! We left the heat of Key West from an epic Soaked and Sore Ass run early and said our goodbyes at our “wasn't supposed to be a hostel room” ( sorry about that Boss, but I took the top bunk right ) and we headed off to the Everglades via every pool we could sneak in that had a "chiller” so it wasn't 98 degrees.

As we pulled off on Loop road {from MM39.5 {That's important!) we stopped to put our clothes on, but showing up in our bikinis would have felt more appropriate. His place is so laid back! We approached the pretty white fence that is in stark contrast to the jungle outside of it and entered the gate. I was surprised it looked like a normal yard with grass . I thought there would be snakes and alligators out all over like the other side of the fence ! His side piece keeps them at bay he tells me. And his private shooting range probably doesn't hurt either.

Maureeen and Lucky greeted us with a beer and hug and we were hooked ! His soft spoken manner mixed with those gentle eyes put us both at ease immediately. In the background 2 TVs played with slide shows of his famous photography artwork. It was erotic and made it a little hard to focus to be honest. I was raised on turtle necks and shame, this is not my comfort zone!. I wondered how Tim Dorsey did it ! Amazingly enough as we sat outside there were no bugs, just 4 fans and a good breeze. They both run Photography by Lucky Cole and women who come from all over to be down

there with the snakes, gators and cypress trees, old clawfoot tubs and his talent with the camera.

His wife Maureen looks about 30 years younger than her age like time has stood still down there for her as well. She's his favorite subject, best friend and they still act like teenagers in love. After 44 years of marriage he's still got that look in his eyes for her.But in no way are you meeting your average grandparents! Not even close !

The compound consists of several little buildings, everybody's favorite being the bath house. It's filled with works of literature, some signed by the authors who brought them there. Author Tim Dorsey is a creature of comfort, that I know, so it's hard to imagine him out in the Glades but he loves it so much he's done 2 book signings out there with Lucky and Maureen with plans for another if Maureen will agree! Last time over 600 people showed up and they ran out of beer, heads up you gotta watch out for those quiet ones with their nose always in a book.

Lucky came to the everglades to escape Miami in 1965 with his wife, he was raised in Miami but spent most of his time in the everglades through his childhood with his uncle. When he first moved to Loop Rd there were 3 bars, a store, gas station and a Lodge. Now all that remains are a few scattered houses and swamp of cypress trees along a 24 mile dirt road.

At age 79 he still rides his Harley with his wife as often as they can get away.. He says he turns off his phone and they ride for hours or days! I asked him if he had anything left on his bucket list, he replied “ No, I've done it all twice !“ Clearly he has ! Their Biker Speakeasy” has new summer and winter hours so they can spend more time riding and seeing family. FInd the Lucky Cole FB page or updates and make a plan to stop or camp!

And from me because I should have listened to Lucky, do not take Loop road past their place onto the dirt road to continue the “loop”after it's rained if you don't have 4wd. Or you may have to walk with the gators and snake's on both sides of you for miles if you get stuck. Or sit all night hoping for a poacher. There's no cell service ! It was fine once we lived but not until that moment , see what you missed Boss!
