Esos Lázaros que tenemos semi muertos pero latentes a la espera del conjuro del arte para traernos de vuelta mensajes del pasado que nos dan alegrías o tormentos.
En “Espacio, Color, Luz” Amaya nos presenta 49 esculturas y relieves en hierro, bronces, resinas, acrílicos y PVC laqueados. Materiales y formas con las que nos demuestra su versatilidad, su capacidad de reinventarse en cada entrega nueva.
De sus pinturas originales, de sus bronces y hierros a lo que vemos en esta exposición hay toda una reafirmación de confianza en sí misma, en su trabajo y en el de sus coleccionistas que esperan que mantenga la solidez de su producción artística.
Hay estados mentales como los recuerdos, las emociones o la consciencia que siguen funcionando sin importar el paso de los años. Y esos estados mentales sólo son reactivados a la perfección a través del poder que tienen las producciones de los artistas. Artistas, como Amaya Salazar, que van directos a despertarlos, sin muchos miramientos.
Las relaciones internas de los personajes que habitan la obra de la artista Amaya Salazar, ese mundo tan personal, íntimo, cargado de belleza y que provoca preguntas como ¿de qué hablarán esas personas en ese cuadro?, son relaciones que denotan una vida personal rica y llena de espiritualidad. Es una recreación de un mundo supuesto en el que la belleza es la base de la vida,
de una arcadia soñada y deseada. Es la obra de Amaya una creación que sugiere e invita de forma amable y tranquila a perderse en reflexiones íntimas.
Sus obras muestran una originalidad que no tiene equivalente entre los creadores anteriores y los de su propia generación; tal vez por ese mundo propio que ha creado, que al ser tan personal, tan íntimo, no puede ser asociado a otras personalidades o vidas particulares. Es un tipo de arte, como el de Renoir, que excluye las denuncias sociales; pero esa exclusión no se puede entender como algo deliberado por intereses políticos o de grupo social, sino porque la artista tiene un mundo propio, un deseo de unas mejores relaciones entre las personas a partir de sus individualidades personales.
There are mental states such as memories, emotions or consciousness that continue to function regardless of the passing of the years. Those mental states are perfectly reactivated through the power of the artists’ productions. Artists, like Amaya Salazar, who without much hesitation wake them up. Those Lazaru’s feelings that we have half dead but are latently waiting for the spell of art to awaken messages from the past that give us joy or torment.
In “Amaya Space, Color, Light” Amaya presents 49 sculptures in iron, bronze,
resin, acrylic and lacquered PVC. Materials and shapes which demonstrate her versatility, her ability to reinvent herself in each new installment. There is a complete reaffirmation of confidence in herself and in her work that is visible starting with her first oil painting and continues through her bronzes and irons all the way to her latest compositions presented in the exhibition.
Amaya Salazar’s characters have a personal relationship intimate, full of beauty while provoking questions. For example, what are those people talking about in that painting? They are relationships that denote a rich personal life, one that is full of spirituality. It is a recreation of a supposed world in which beauty is the basis of life, of a dreamed and desired utopia. Amaya’s work is a creation that gently and calmly suggests and invites you to lose yourself in intimate reflections.
Her works show an originality that has no equivalent among previous creators and those of her own generation; perhaps because she has created a world unique to her, one that is personal, intimate, and can’t be associated with other personalities or particular lives. It is a type of art, like Renoir’s, that excludes social denunciations; but this exclusion can’t be understood as something deliberate for political or social group interests, but because the artist has her own world, a desire for better relationships between people based on their personal individualities.
La amatxu o mamá de Amaya Salazar era de descendencia vasca. De joven visitaba a sus familiares en Euskadi y tuvo la oportunidad de vivir en Bilbao. La cultura vasca forma parte de su identidad y sus raíces; por eso mediante esta escultura, la artista experimenta con la caligrafía que nos da una bienvenida a través del idioma de sus antepasados.
Amaya’s amtaxu or mother was of Basque descent. As a young girl she would visit her family in Euskadi and she had the opportunity to live in Bilbao. The Basque culture forms an important part of the artists’s identity. Thus, through this sculpture the artist experiments with her calligraphy and gives a welcome through the language of her ancestors.

Amaya Salazar’s art presents an optimistic view of life. It celebrates experiences and it sets itself apart from the pessimism presented in the post modern world.
Her works allow the observer to form part of magical worlds. These fantasy universes open doors and invite the spectator to live in an atmosphere filled with rays of light, fresh shadows and eternal color.

La naturaleza ha sido un tema integral en la obra de Amaya. Siempre creando ámbitos que rodean a sus personajes en ambientes místicos que envuelven al espectador y los invitan a sumergirse en ellos. En esta exposición, la palmera, un elemento icónico del caribe nace del hierro y se baña en el cromatismo de la artista. Los cipreses alargados y blancos y los diferentes árboles representados en un material fuerte e inflexible son forjados por la mano de Amaya. Aún siendo de un material rígido la línea es sutil, fluida y presenta un movimiento tan flexible que hasta podríamos sentir la brisa que los mueve.
Nature is an integral part in Amaya’s ouvre. She surrounds her characters in mystical environments that invite the viewer to immerse themselves in them. In this exhibition, the palm tree, an iconic Caribbean element is born from steel and is bathed in the hues of the artist. The elongated white elongated cypresses and the different trees represented in a strong and inflexible material are forged by Amaya’s hand. Even though they are made of a rigid material, the line is subtle and fluid. The steel moves in such a way that we can even imagen the breeze flowing through the sculptures.

Amaya es una tenaz creadora que está constantemente buscando nuevas maneras de representar los temas que la apasionan como son la familia, la mujer, la maternidad, las palmeras y los árboles. En sus obras se observan las diferentes técnicas que ella ha utilizado, donde siempre predominan sus colores, sus personajes y su naturaleza. Se puede ver cómo la artista moldea el barro para crear esculturas en bronce o resina. También, puede apreciarse el uso de nuevas tecnologías, como los cortes de láser para manipular los acrílicos y los hierros.
La combinación de estos colores y las técnicas permiten crear el universo ´´Amaya´´.
Amaya is a relentless creator who is constantly searching for new ways to represent the themes in which she is passionate such as families, women, mother and child images, palm trees and nature. In her work we can observe different techniques. We can see how she molds the clay to create bronze or resin sculptures. We can also observe her use of new technologies, such as laser cuts on acrylics and iron. The combination of colors and technique create a universe, “Amaya.”

Mother and child, couples, families and women are Amaya’s muses. In her paintings these characters are united by line, color and light. In her sculptures they are forged by material and fused in an eternal union.

Formas orgánicas con elementos geométricos y líneas recta se unen en perfecta sinfonía en las esculturas de Amaya. Así como esta artista transforma un rojo incandescente a un azul oscuro o a un amarillo vibrante, ella puede convertir una línea perpendicular en un orificio orgánico. Trabaja el balance entre lo rígido y lo fluido, encuentra un punto en un cuadrado para que nazca una silueta de una mariposa o una mujer pero con el equilibrio perfecto.
Organic shapes with geometric elements and straight lines come together in perfect symphony in Amaya’s sculptures. Just as she transforms an incandescent red into a dark blue or a vibrant yellow, she can turn a perpendicular line into an organic form. She creates balance between what is rigid and fluid. She starts with a point and transforms it into a silhouette of a butterfly or a woman that is born but with the perfect balance.
