Community Easter Lunch On Sunday 3rd April, Tonbridge School was delighted to spread a little Easter cheer and welcome families to the School to share a roast meal together and enjoy some Easter fun activities All seemed to enjoy egg and spoon races, some of which saw children squealing with laughter as they won races against their parents. Many enjoyed decorating china mugs or rabbit ornaments, or making Easter Bunny masks, and were helped by the children of several of our staff who had volunteered to run the day. Finally, children could complete an Easter egg hunt, and all left with bags brimming with chocolate Easter eggs. The families were referred to the scheme through F.E.A.S.T – Families Eating And Sharing Together, (feast.org.uk) the Sustain food bank at Tonbridge Baptist Church, and other local organisations. One family said: It was wonderful to be welcomed to the school like this and to enjoy Easter activities together. My children loved it and left tired and really happy. Thank you so much, and happy Easter to everyone involved”. Our thanks to Ark Animal Encounters, Marie Wallace who coordinated the event, the catering department and to all the staff and their children who volunteered to make the day such a success.

ocal families including over 50 children were welcomed to the school and were treated to a fine Sunday roast carefully prepared by the catering staff of the Orchard Centre. All were hugely complimentary about the fantastic meal, and how friendly everyone had been. After lunch, the families were welcomed to the library garden where they were delighted to find a whole range of activities for the children, while their parents enjoyed a cup of tea. The highlight was clearly the petting zoo, where children could walk a miniature goat or sheep, or pet ducklings, chicks, rabbits, guinea pigs and many other small animals.
