PROGNOZY ZAGOSPODAROWANIA PRZESTRZENNEGO OBSZARU PARKU KRAJOBRAZOWEGO PUSZCZY KNYSZYŃSKIEJ • TOMASZ GRZEGORZ OŁDYTOWSKI • a b s t r a c t SPACE MANAGEMENT FORECAST FOR THE KNYSZYŃSKA FOREST LANDSCAPE PARK AREA The basic document which defines the rules that govern local planning and using the area of Witold Sławinski’s Puszcza Knyszynska Landscape Park (PKLP) is The Park’s Protection Plan. The constituents of the Plan should be respected while local planning of his area. Since there are no such plans concerning many Park’s communes, there is a high risk that the protected area will be disturbed by illegal/accidental building. Administration units at different levels as well as active communities and unions, via stimulating the development of tourism, should influence the shaping of spatial order on the territory of Puszcza Knyszynska (Knyszyn Forest). In order to protect the landscape and develop tourism in PKLP further it is obligatory to: immediately call up a group of initiative by the Park’s Head Office, update and implement The Park’s Protection Plan, start to work on clearing plans by local authorities together with administration of Lasy Państwowe (National Forests), quit working on scattered local planning, create principles of “The Statute-book for Puszcza Knyszynska’s Architecture” and constantly monitor tourist movement on the territory of the Park. Introducing spatial order into the landscape of the Park will result in restoring its natural and cultural heritage and will boost the development of tourist infrastructure of this area.
