experienced with the push-up bra nor a sexist provocation like Madonna pulled off in the 1990s – never will we forget her rocket-cone bra by Jean Paul Gaultier! This new trend, which has flooded the runways of all significant fashion houses like Dior, Chanel or Dolce & Gabanna for several seasons, is far simpler and more sophisticated than that. Lace body stockings, satin mini dresses and silk tops now reveal more than just the female contours. All this and much more – or should that be less – constitutes the current dressed-undressed style, or simply minimalism if you will. Our grandmothers may wrongly assume that in the morning hustle we forgot to put our skirt on and this ultra-pure style may well be not to everyone's taste. But isn't it the epitome of simplicity? Underwear turns into upper-wear. With minimal adjustments a nightgown becomes a daytime affair.
Comfort and the soft, pleasant materials we enjoyed and wore underneath our outfits have been elevated into higher spheres. Satin shorts, chiffon blouses and fishnet stockings are worn in combination with giant sweaters, coats and high boots. Feathery, seductive materials will in the upcoming season wed with warm high-quality materials like wool, cashmere and leather thus contrasting with, and warming, an otherwise scantily clad body. Here's some advice from our stylist for inspiration. “Focus your attention on your upper body,” Džamila says. “If your figure is not perfect, it is advisable to wear transparent materials in places where there is something to show. If you boast a beautiful cleavage, that is the place for the lace. If slim arms are your strong point, opt for chiffon sleeves – they have very feminine appeal.” This season black and skin colour are complemented by the colours of ripe fruits. Claret red and dark green can be combined as you see fit.
