James Volpert, co-owner and operator of several Tropical Smoothie Cafe locations in Central Indiana, says locals are excited about the new location that will soon be opening in Westfield. “I hope to be open some time in early April,” Volpert says. “The building is built, we just need to work on the interior. We will be in the Oakridge shops.” Volpert is pleased with the Westfield location. “Westfield is an incredible city to serve amazing smoothies and food with a bit of tropical fun,” he says. “We want to be involved in the community at all levels.” Volpert, who co-owns the Tropical Smoothie Cafe Fishers location, says excitement over the smoothies has been spreading across the country. “With over 800 stores in the country, there has been obsession with the food and smoothies from the fans,” he says. “Just recently the Harlem Globetrotters were in town, and one of them wanted our Triple Berry Oat smoothie. We made a run down to Bankers Life Fieldhouse to deliver our awesome smoothies to them.” Volpert believes the restaurant, which serves smoothies, sandwiches and other treats, has been a unique hit because of the great care taken in the 18 / WESTFIELD MAGAZINE / JUNE 2020 / WestfieldMag.com
