NEW CRAVE OPENING AT GEIST MARINA
Amanda and Scott Grollnek are bringing CRAVE Ice Cream Social to the Geist Marina Shoppes.

If you’re craving some good ice cream these days, you’ll be happy to see the first, new ice cream shop open at the Geist Marina this fall, Crave Ice Cream Social. The Grollneks were dining at Puccini’s one night when Scott’s mom said, “We need some ice cream after dinner. I wish there was an ice cream shop around here.” That comment got the ball rolling. “That’s what made us think,” says Scott. “We do need an ice cream place around here!” The Grollneks looked around for space in the area but couldn’t find exactly
what they were looking for. Then, Geist Fitness announced they were downsizing, leaving a 1200 sq. ft. spot wide open next to Eddy’s Bar and Grill, complete with a separate outdoor patio.
They are looking forward to the opening of the new multiuse trail from 79th and Fall Creek to the Geist Marina area. “That means more traffic looking for some good ice cream!” says Scott.
“That was it,” says Scott. “We found our spot!”
Amanda says they chose a modernlooking industrial, kind of restoration hardware theme for the décor with gray walls and wood tabletops. They signed a lease in May and hope to be in full operation for the holiday season.
Scott says it works out great because they don’t compete with their neighboring restaurants but add more offerings to the area. “We offer dessert after a nice meal or just a cool treat on its own,” says Scott.
