Reduce distractions.

Set up your workspace to be distraction-free - away from the door (where people come and go), away from the window (and distractions from outside), and away from clutter, electronic media, and other distractions

Organise yourself

Streamline your day by using time management and organisational strategies. You can help yourself become more organised by doing the following:

Set objectives

Make to-do lists to plan and prioritise your day's tasks

Keep a diary and set reminders for tasks that need to be completed. Organise tasks that are similar and can be completed together.

Divide tasks into smaller chunks.

Smaller tasks are easier to complete and organise and are less intimidating. They are also easier to complete when your mind is clear, and your concentration is strong

Include rest periods between activities and tasks. Breaks after completing a task can help you refocus on the next task

Use problem-solving techniques.

Effective problem-solving involves defining the problem, brainstorming solutions, selecting and testing a solution, and reviewing the results
