Hello TASD Families,

Our thanks to all at Tomah High School for making this year’s homecoming a tremendous success! Tomah Area School District shines with long standing traditions celebrating and honoring students, faculty, and our community!

Speaking of honoring students, two former THS graduates were inducted this week as Distinguished Alumni! Ms. Elizabeth Hein – Class of 1996 and Mr. Gary Govesteen Class of 1959 were honored for their life-long achievements and service! Family, friends, and the entire Tomah High School student body enjoyed the presentation! Thank you Ms. Hein and Mr. Govesteen for your gifts, talents, leadership, and contribution of service locally and throughout the globe!

Thank you all for making this a very special week! See you at the parade and game!

TASD DISTINGUISHED ALUMNI ‘22 INDUCTEES

Mr. Gary Grovesteen and Ms. Elizabeth Hein gathered with their friends, family, and the entire THS student population to accept the honor of being inducted into the TASD Distinguished Alumni program. Both inductees spoke words of appreciation, humility, and encouragement to students during a wonderful ceremony in a packed auditorium. The inductees will ride through the Homecoming Parade as well as come forward during the football game this evening for a community-wide recognition. Photos and highlights of the ceremony will be shared soon!

Nominations are always welcome, but they must be submitted by the end of May to be considered for the following year. Non-select nominations are held for future consideration for three years. Visit our website for more information on making a nomination.

Mr. Gary Grovesteen and Ms. Elizabeth Hein admire their newly-added plaques to the Distinguished Alumni Wall of Honor (plaques manufactured & installed by Zingler Signs).

HAPPENING IN OUR

#WISchoolBoardWeek

TAMS School house collaborated on this great banner for our School Board. The banner will be hanging in the RKLC Conference room where the BOE Meets each month.

“Students from each grade level designed cards for residents at Tomah Nursing & Rehab as well as a fall banner. Our junior class walked these items down with the expectation to hand them off to the activities director, but we were welcomed in to visit with residents and pass out the cards ourselves. It. Was. LOVELY. They did a tremendous job.” -Mrs. Scott, THS JAG

Lemonweir’s 4K & 5K classes took a trip to the Tomah Fire Station for a personal visit with the firefighters. Thank you Tomah FD for your partnership and always welcoming our students! Dan Wall, THS Varsity Softball Coach Coach of the Year

Activities Director, Mr. Plueger, presented the Tomah Sports Booster Club’s annual Coach of the Year and the Fans of the Year awards at the Homecoming Pep Rally yesterday. Thank you three for your contributions to our athletics! Keep an eye out for them in the parade!
