Hello, everyone! Enjoy this issue of the PAWS! A reminder there is no school for students Monday, March 28th as our faculty will have a Collaboration and Grading day. Opportunities for our teachers to engage in professional development activities moves our district forward as we focus on High Quality Student Learning. Every Child. Every Day! Students in grades 3-8 and 10 are currently taking the Wisconsin Forward exam here in Tomah. This state level exam provides data related to the level of mastery students have of the Wisconsin State Standards for English language arts and mathematics in grades 3 through 8, in science in grades 4 and 8, and in social studies in grades 4, 8, and 10. Forward Exam results will be published Fall 2022. March 21st Regular Meeting of the Board of Education Recap: Mrs. Michelle Clark, current LaGrange Elementary School principal, was approved by the board of education as the district’s next business manager. We’re proud to have her continue service to the district in this role! It was a wonderful evening as the board celebrated the outstanding accomplishments of our 4th and 5th grade students in the Regional Battle of the Books, the members of the state THS Academic Decathlon Team, and Advanced Marketing students who earned scholarships for their work in the Fall 2021 Business World Kwik Trip Innovation contest. Congratulations students, teachers, coaches, and advisors! You can view full news articles on our website! The board held a first reading of several policies. Please select the BOE tab and March 21st regular board meeting to view a PDF binder with recommended policy changes. These policy updates will go up for second reading and board action at the April 18th regular meeting, . Expanded community member access to our COVID 19 testing site was also approved Monday night. Please see the flyer in this issue for information. The board of education meets again April 4th for the Board Academy meeting, April 18th for their regular meeting, and April 25th for the Reorganization Meeting. Candidate Selected for TASD Business Manager Position At their March 21st regular meeting, the Tomah Area School District Board of Education unanimously approved Mrs. Michelle M. Clark as the 20222023 Business Manager. Mrs. Clark recently served as principal of LaGrange Elementary School. Mrs. Clark will officially begin the duties as district business manager on July 1st, 2022. See full article [here].
