H e l l o , TA S D Fa m i l i e s !

We’ve had a wonderful week of celebrations! Hats off to the exemplary food service team at TASD for their work every day fueling our students with healthy and nutritious breakfast, lunch, and snack items! The Band O’ Rama concert was incredible! A joy to see EVERY student involved in middle school and high school music classes performing last night. Our thanks to the music faculty for their gifts and talents guiding our students from early music learners to the highest levels of musical technique and skill! Amazing! Meeting the academic, social, emotional, and physical well-being of our students is the focus of our work at Tomah Area School District. Vital to this endeavor is the exemplary work of our school social worker Mrs. Jesana Denter-Eckelberg! “The theme for National School Social Work Week 2022 is ‘Time to Shine.’ The School Social Work Association of American (SSWAA) believes that School Social Workers shine brightly for their students, families, and school communities. Shining hope. Shining understanding. Shining respect. ‘School Social Workers are humble professionals,’ said Rebecca Oliver, LMSW, SSWAA Executive Director, ‘who often are the voice for students and families but do not always voice the value they add to the school community. School Social Workers shine a light on the need for mental health services, offering hope for students and families who face various challenges, and lighting the way for marginalized youth.” Thank you, Mrs., DenterEckelberg for providing a shining light to our students and school community! Thank you, everyone, for your support of our students and faculty during Winter 2022 activities! We are so proud of our students and grateful to our coaches and advisors for the powerful impact co-curricular activities have on the educational journey of our students! My sincere thank you to our Winter 2022 coaches and advisors who share their gifts, talents, and passion for teaching by encouraging many pathways for students to build their skill sets, grow their confidence, and find new levels of success making Tomah Area School District a great place to learn and grow!

Have a great weekend! - Dr. Hanson
