for week ending DECEMBER 10, 2021 Tomah Area School District @TomahAreaSchools
H e l l o , TA S D Fa m i l i e s !
We’re on the countdown to Holiday Break, and winter is making its presence known! Stay warm and safe as we experience some snowfall later today into Saturday. Our district office, transportation, and grounds/maintenance teams work diligently to track weather patterns to appropriately address the safety of our students, faculty, and visitors during periods of inclement weather. Many thanks to all involved up early and late at night responding to conditions created by adverse weather conditions. They are always dedicated to the safety of our community of learners! Many local agencies were recently recipients of funds from the Thomas B. Earle Charitable Foundation! We are grateful to the recipient organizations for making a difference in the lives of others through the Thomas B. Earle Charitable Foundation! Please find more information to the right about this great resource for our community.

Thomas B. Earle Charitable Foundation Trust Awardees
Thomas B. Earle graduated from Tomah High School in 1928. He was a star athlete and served as president of his class. After completing undergraduate work at Long Beach, California Junior College, Tom earned a graduate degree and his C.P.A. from the University of Wisconsin-Madison. In 1986, Thomas Earle passed away. With no known heirs, Tom arranged with an out-of-state firm to establish the Thomas B. Earle Charitable Foundation Trust which was to benefit people living in the Tomah community and its immediate surrounding area by improving the quality of the lifestyle of the handicapped and needy, both young and old. In 2019, Thomas was inducted into our Distinguished Alumni program for his humanitarian efforts and charitable contributions to our community. Since it began in 1986, the Thomas B. Earle Charitable Foundation Trust has contributed over $1.5 million to our community. This year alone, the trust awarded $58,836 to Tomah area organizations. The Tomah Area School District was awarded $3,052.11 to create Lego learning environment walls at LaGrange Elementary, purchase Motor Lab items at Lemonweir Elementary, and purchase learning tools for the Dramatic Area, Discovery Area, and Art Area for the Lemonweir 4K classroom.

Mayo Clinic donated $4,500 toward private mental health counseling and therapy services for TASD students that otherwise could not receive this care (due to lack of insurance or not being covered by insurance). This is part of Mayo’s “Season of Gratitude” initiative. This donation will help in our efforts to improve the mental health and wellness of our student population. Thank you, Mayo for your generosity and shared caring for our students!
