for week ending OCTOBER 15, 2021 Tomah Area School District @TomahAreaSchools
H e l l o , TA S D Fa m i l i e s !
I hope you enjoy this week’s PAWS! We’re so proud to highlight the gifts and talents of our faculty, students, and honor our special events and programs! Impact Aid Program Survey Form: Thank you so much for completing and submitting the Impact Aid forms sent to you. The information is very important as our school district receives federal funds through the Impact Aid program through students and families residing or working on/off tribal lands, military installations, and other federally connected properties. We appreciate receiving your forms to ensure Impact Aid funds continue to support our students! The impact of COVID 19 continues to be felt for another school year. As of this date, we have experienced an increase in positive cases and a substantial increase in the number of students impacted by the Monroe County Department of Health quarantine directive. Tomah Area School District COVID 19 information is updated as soon as possible and added to our district website. Please visit the School COVID and Attendance Information link to view the data. We understand and share your frustration with Monroe County Health Department’s quarantine orders. While the district does not issue the quarantine directive, we are required by state statute to forward information to Monroe County Health through the contact tracing process. If we did not share information and contact tracing was turned over solely to Monroe County Health, we would see significantly more students be quarantined. Many building employees spend significant time in their day conducting the tracing process to minimize the student quarantine impact of the Monroe County Health Department order. Please contact the Monroe County Health office with your questions about quarantine orders. Thank you very much for your partnership as we work together navigating the continued impact of the pandemic. The October 18th board of education meeting agenda may be viewed on our district website. Board meetings are open to the public. This meeting is scheduled for Monday, October 18th beginning at 6:00 p.m. and held at the Tomah High School main gym. Regular and special school board meetings are recorded and posted at a later date on our school website. We’re honored to serve your children! Our dedicated team of educational professionals at every building and in all operations make a positive impact and keep us moving forward every day – especially during these very difficult times. Thank you for working with us along the educational journey of our children!
Have a great weekend! - Dr. Hanson

Our very own, Mrs. Amy King was recoginzed as News 8’s October “Top Notch Teacher”. Mrs. King was nominated by the community and recognized by News 8 for her relationship-driven teaching style and sincere impact on our students. “It’s been crazy! I have been showered with gifts and tokens of apprectiation from our community since the announcement. I feel somewhat like a celebrity! Although the attention is not something I’m typically comfortable with, it feels incredible to be recognized for my passion. I love being a teacher. Thank you all for your support and this recognition.”
