Hello Tomah Area School District Families and Community Members!
Enjoy this issue of the PAWS highlighting the wonderful things happening at Tomah Area School District!
The district has recently completed a Facilities Study with Bray Architects and Market and Johnson leading toward several macro level options for discussion as the district looks toward its long-range facility needs. Community stakeholder input is very important to this process. We encourage you to attend one or both of the March 5th Informational Meeting and Feedback sessions. We have one starting at 12:00 p.m. (noon) in the Robert Kupper Learning Center. An additional meeting also scheduled March 5th begins at 6:30 p.m. in the Tomah High School Cafeteria. Thank you very much for considering attending these informational and feedback sessions that will help shape the direction of this process!
A look back at: February 2024
WI Athletic Service Award
Each year the Wisconsin Athletic Directors Association acknowledges a special group of people who go above and beyond for their athletic departments. These people step up when needed and take on responsibilities at sporting events that typically go unnoticed but are a vital part of the game.
This year’s recipient of the Wisconsin Athletic Service Award goes to our very own scoreboard/bookkeeper Brenda Kroener. Athletic Director Brad Plueger presented Brenda with the award between basketball games during Pack the Gym Night at the High School.
Stay up to
Brenda is a 1985 THS graduate and has been a teacher in the Tomah Area School District for the last 30 years. Her love for sports started at a young age and continues today. For the last 28 plus years, after teaching all day, you can find Brenda at many middle school or high school sporting events working the clock, keeping scorebook, or selling tickets. Even though we all know Brenda hates being in the spotlight, her dedication to Tomah Athletics doesn’t go unnoticed and we want to show our appreciation for all she contributes! Join us in congratulating Brenda Kroener!

THS CLASS PUBLISHES A BOOK!
“The whole process was AMAZING!” said Ms. Tackett. The students were given a huge poster laying out all the steps to take in making the book. They worked together brainstorming book ideas before voting, and unanimously decided on Holidays. Sticky notes were passed out with different holidays on them, and the students used their Chromebooks and iPads to look up facts and information on their holiday.
They started out practicing their writing and drawing on blank paper before they began transferring them to the book sheet. The group worked for two weeks and made deadline! When the shipment of bound books arrived, the students were EXTREMELY proud and excited!
Austin Leis, La'Dainian Coleman, Riley Fravel, Addisen Lee, Emily Long, Alex Larson, Jacob Gerke, and Livia Licona created the book with direction from Ms. Tackett and Mr. Lenning. The book will also be in the National Book Challenge by Student Treasures Publishing!
