As Kai acquired another key after scouting the land of daydreams and nightmares, the tinted hues gradually dissipated and a new world appeared right before their eyes.
Wherever Kai turned, a dense mist shrouded every inch of the scene. Kai only stood frozen as they casually watched the unfamiliar realm.
What appears to be small was never truly “just small” at all. Now in its second volume, Karton continues to serve as a space for young creatives to keep the art flowing.
Scale explores two realities — the big and the small, and within their contrast lies a shared space where they intersect: a nexus of perception, imagination, and expression.
The world is not simply one world; it is complex and scaled depending on who you are and how you perceive it. To an ant, a human is an unknown giant. To a human, the same ant could seem insignificant. But neither is wrong. It’s all a matter of scale.
And perhaps that is the peculiar beauty of it all: the world can be both tiny and vast at the same time.
Kai decided to venture far in desolation. Completely out of touch, they hiked for days until they came across a place of skytowering terrain. Gigantic stone pedestals overshadowed Kai's presence.
From a moment, Kai felt extremely insignificant for being too small for this place, far from the great and legendary figures around them. Even the steps Kai managed to take were a test of sheer will and strength.

Despite the growing tension of giving up, Kai searched high and low looking for another clue. This time, Kai stumbled upon a peaceful and quiet place they nearly missed out because it was so small.
The moment Kai took a small breath, it caused a large disturbance to the serene place. Kai again doubted their purpose of being there and the thought of struggling to fit between any places shrouded across Kai's mind.

As Kai continuously navigated the realm, they slowly realized the idea of both places they went to. Kai learned the true purpose of embracing the scale of things and appreciate its differences.
Whether in the big or small, each place held its own significance, and Kai found peace in existing within both. At last, it was all clear the idea was never about truly understanding the world but about experiencing every bit of it.

The theme is about the concept of two interconnected yet distinct worlds – the big and small. Its unique features, differences, and values.
In the big world, one can go big to achieve all of life’s grand adventures by navigating the unknown and challenging the limits of the impossible. Where every flip reveals new discovery and thrill— every fold offers different exploration. In the small world, one can strive for contentment by finding the simple gratitudes and pleasures in life and appreciating the serene. Where every moment is seized at the very present — every minute is felt without the need of external validation.
