Cuddle Weather By Lyka De La Torre

But got interrupted by ringtone number nine blasting off of my phone speakers in melodious uproar. I clicked on the fat, bold SNOOZE displayed at the bottom of my phone screen and tucked myself into a comfortable mess of pillows and blankets like a sleep-deprived burrito.

"Five more minutes," I mumbled for the eighth time. The white noise of rain hitting cityscapes was a beautiful lullaby – too beautiful, I realized. And then, I jolted up. I had to go to school.

Reaching for my phone, I noticed the notification light blinking. Floating over my wallpaper was a lurking demon – a chat head with the profile picture seemingly smirking at me. I tapped on it.

"Meg, masulod ka? Indi ko magsulod kung indi ka magsulod." There it was. The devil that lulled me back to sleep.
