Tonye Princewill visits David Abraham Enefiong, Victim of explosion, calls him ‘a hero'

Succour seems to have come the way of one David Enefiok whose right wrist was shattered by cannon fire during the final funeral rites of the late Kalabari king, Professor T.J.T. Princewill, at Abonnema Wharf, in Port Harcourt.

The thirty-two year-old Enefiok sustained the severe injury after he tried to remove a cannon shot that erroneously landed on a speed boat during the burial rites of the king.

During a visit to the victim at the Creek Hospital, in Old GRA, Tonye Princewill described him as a hero, promising that he would do all in his power to ensure he regains the use of his hand.

The Kalabari-born prince assured that already three parties, including Asari Dokubo, the Health Subcommittee of the late Amayanabo’s funeral, and himself will foot the victim’s medical bill, adding that plans are being finalised to fly him to a hospital in Dubai, the United Arab Emirate, where he would be fitted with a prosthetic hand to replace the one he had lost.
