Born in San Diego, I grew up in the cornfields of central Illinois. After studying drama, I moved to New York and pursued a career as an actor, but became increasingly drawn to work that has a larger impact on the world. I worked in non-profit grants administration, mainly at arts and public health foundations, and there discovered the field of landscape architecture.
I am drawn to urban spaces that connect people with natural processes and to wild spaces that allow people in. Exploring a site deeply, researching its history, how water and visitors flow through it, and engaging with a diversity of stakeholders excites my design work.

Master Planning - White Mountain Recreation Complex
This master plan rendering is part of a plan for a large recreation complex in a rural town looking to expand its recreational services to become a regional destination as well as a resource for nearby K-12 schools. The plan was created by a team of landscape architects and planners, including myself. A large turf area provides space for a variety of field sports including soccer, football, baseball and softball. Additional dedicated space is provided for pickleball, tennis, volley ball and basketball around a central node of services. Parking is expanded and distributed throughout the complex to provide convenient access for everyday and tournament visitors, while preserving and enhancing neighboring wetlands. The rendering was created by me.
Master Planning - Suburban Denver Parks
This concept rendering is part of a Parks and Recreation Master Plan created by a team of landscape architects and designers, including myself. The two parks, Memorial and Heritage Parks, are reimagined as two connected spaces that celebrate the history and ecology of the city through a memorial plaza, natural play space, and educational pollinator garden. A street mural creates a sense of place for the town and helps create a safer pedestrian crossing between the parks. An outdoor classroom can be used by the community and helps connect the Heritage Center, which houses a lively afterschool program focused on creative and technological projects, to its namesake park. The conceptual rendering was created by me.

SITE DEVELOPMENT
Construction Documents - Gateway Prayer Garden Landscape Plan
The Gateway Prayer Garden in Fountain, CO aims to create a nondenominational garden for prayer, meditation, and worship, connected to a major regional bicycle and pedestrian trail along the areas major waterway, Fountain Creek. I created this landscape plan on a pre-existing site plan in collaboration with a registered landscape architect. It prioritizes native and locally adapted species, while also including species of Biblical significance, to create a low-water demand garden that will thrive in the hot, arid climate of southern Colorado.

This learning garden was designed for a small charter elementary school. The school building backs up to a steeply graded slope topped by a historic acequia (irrigation ditch). Because the school does not own the property, no permanent improvements could be made. Using primarily natural materials and segmented block retaining walls, the design provides a variety of outdoor learning spaces including an educational produce garden, a council ring, and a COVID memorial patio. This design was created under the supervision of a registered landscape architect; the construction drawing was created by me.

This irrigation plan and the following landscape plan were developed as part of a larger overhaul of infrastructure on the campus of a small two-year public college. Having recently built the first student housing on campus, this plan created a safe route from the new housing to the educational core of the campus. I created the irrigation and landscape plans under the supervision of a registered landscape architect; the site plan was created by others.

Community Work - Commerce City Gas Station
This graphic, created for a neighborhood meeting that is part of the approval process of this development, shows the site and landscape plan for a gas station and small retail development in Commerce City, CO. The site and landscape plan were created by others, but the rendering is my own.
Community Work - Santa Rosa Crosswalk
This crosswalk was commissioned to increase the sense of place in the quiet downtown of Santa Rosa, NM, population 2,500. The design incorporates the city logo and references the nearby Blue Hole, a spring-fed lake that attracts scuba divers from around the region. Installation was completed by members of the community. I completed the design under the supervision of a registered landscape architect.
Renderings - Neighborhood-scale Green Stormwater Infrastructure
These renderings were commissioned as part of a neighborhood effort to remedy flooding issues using GSI. The design was created under the supervision of a registered landscape architect and the rendering is my own.
Renderings - Complete Streets
These renderings were commissioned in support of a local complete streets ordinance. The design was created under the supervision of a registered landscape architect and the rendering is my own.

Student Work - Pennsbury Manor
Pennsbury Manor is the reconstructed country estate of William Penn in Bucks County, PA along the Delaware River. The design for a preserved and enhanced site with a new Delaware burial ground was created as part of a year long capstone studio. The burial ground aims to reveal a history previously absent from the site, while preserving the existing Willam Penn and more recent cultural histories on-site. A planting plan and schedule are on the following pages.

Student Work - Callowhill and Reading Viaduct Park
Reading Viaduct Park in Callowhill Philadelphia was the focus of a semester-long urban design studio. The park anchors the Reading Viaduct, an elevated linear park along the former Reading Viaduct rail line, providing much needed green space in a quickly gentrifying neighborhood. Emphasis in this studio was placed on hand graphics. Teams of three students completed inventory and analysis for the site, as well as documenting design precedents for urban woodland parks. Final designs were created individually.
