January 2014 Newsletter

By The Book-Visiting GWRRA Guidelines I enjoy visiting other regions web pages across the U.S. and seeing all they have to offer in their respective chapter newsletters. I came across a great idea in one of the Region H chapter’s newsletters and felt that it would be a good addition to our newsletter. Some of us have been members of GWRRA and a local chapter for years. Some of us have only been members a short while. We don’t always get around to reading all that wonderful literature, guidelines or manuals that are provided to us. So I will be sharing sections of the manuals over the next coming months. I hope you enjoy learning more about our fine association. And remember “every member matters, we are listening”. If you have suggestions, we would like to hear them. So here is “By The Book”. Did you know that

. . . . . . . The Gold Wing Road Riders Association (GWRRA) is the world's largest single-marque social organization for owners and riders of Honda Gold Wing/Valkyrie motorcycles -- and some would say, the world's largest family. Dedicated to our motto, Friends for Fun, Safety and Knowledge, GWRRA members enjoy the freedom of belonging to a not-for-profit, non-religious and non-political organization. Founded in 1977, GWRRA has grown to more than 72,000 U.S., Canadian and international Members in 53 foreign countries in just 35 years. Over 800 active Chapters are managed by 4,000 volunteer leaders working with members to foster safe, enjoyable riding while also working to improve the public image of motorcycling. Every organization needs to have a mission and vision statement. These are the foundation for everything the organization hopes to accomplish. A mission statement defines the fundamental purpose of an organization and succinctly describes why it exists. The vision statement outlines what the organization wants to be. It is a longterm view concentrating on the future and should be a source of inspiration. GWRRA VISION Gold Wing Road Riders Association [GWRRA] is recognized as the world's largest single-marquee for safety, technical, educational and social organization for riders of touring motorcycles. GWRRA MISSION Dedicated to our Motto; Friends for Fun, Safety and Knowledge, GWRRA Members enjoy the freedom of belonging to a not-for-profit, non-religious and non-political organization.
