FRAUD ALERT

notification is sent. While many filings are legitimate, this service helps property owners monitor their deed records for fraudulent activity.

Sadly, the FBI has reported that many people are having their land fraudulently sold by someone impersonating the land owner (https:// www.fbi.gov/contact-us/ field-offices/newark/news/ fraudsters-are-stealingland-out-from-underowners).

One of the FBI’s top recommendations is that property owners sign up for Property Fraud Alerts with their county clerk’s office. While this service has been offered for several years in Fannin County, being registered to receive alerts is becoming more

important. There have been recent updates and improvements to the program. Property Fraud Alert is now available in English and Spanish. Property owners that don’t speak English or have limited English skills are at an increased risk for fraud. Subscribers can now receive text messages, phone alerts, or e-mails when documents are filed with their names or address.

“As an elected official in Fannin County, one of my priorities is the maintenance and protection of accurate records," says Garner. "Property Fraud Alert is a service I am proud to say we offer to help our citizens protect themselves and their property from fraudsters. The time, money, and heartache victims can save due to these notifications is priceless. For many, our homes and property are our largest investments. This free service is more important than ever to protect that investment.”

Garner adds, “As a property owner and a registered user of Property Fraud Alert, I can testify that the service works. When I was sworn into office, various official documents and my bond were filed in the County Clerk’s office. I was notified within 24 hours that documents with my name had been filed with the county. Gratefully, these were all legitimate documents. However, in this day and age with fraud and scams on the increase, everything we can do to protect ourselves should be done.”

Property Fraud Alert is available through the county clerk’s website, https://www.co.fannin. tx.us/page/fannin.County. Clerk under the Land Records Department. It is also available online at www.propertyfraudalert. com or by calling 1-800728-3858. Additional information can be obtained by contacting the Fannin County Clerk’s Office at 903-583-7486.

Fannin County Commissioners Meeting

•Commissioner’s Waggoner and Self Speak About Judge Cunningham

•Citizens Speak Out Against BESS to be constructed on Rec Road

The Fannin County Commissioners met on Tuesday, August 12, 2025 at 9:00 AM for a regular meeting of the Fannin County Commissioners Court. Quorum was established with all four Commissioners and Judge Cunningham present

5. Public Forum. Fannin County resident and past Commissioner of Pct. 1

Dale McQueen thanked the Court for approving the $4000.00 for the Christmas Committee in Monday’s budget meeting. He also wanted to acknowledge the Creative Arts Center and the Fannin County Leader for their contributions to the decorations last Christmas. Commissioner Waggoner Pct,. 1 also spoke in public forum. “Last week in this courtroom, I was personally attacked by Judge Cunningham for bringing issues to our court and in front of the commissioners about things that affect construction at the Justice Center. I was bringing these issues before the court to be discussed as not to have a walking quorum, as we have been accused of many times. So, going forward, I will see what I have already started through on this project. But any new issues that need to be addressed, to keep this project moving forward and on schedule, has to be addressed by another party. After being ridiculed in public for doing my job. You, sir, have made a mockery of this courtroom, and Commissioners Court.

Our county is the laughing stock of the state of Texas because of your courtroom antics.” Commissioner Pct. 2 A.J. Self then addressed the Court. “On June 17th this year, you stated to the Court about the last four cases of indictments being dismissed. Then you stated, going forward, your focus is going to be on county priorities besides public safety, besides having ambulance service and those sort of things, you want to see the Justice Center get finished. You want to have a product that is sufficient to meet our needs. Last week got out of hand, yet again, because you’re still bringing up indictments.

Commissioner Kopf, I agree with you, we do need to bring some professionalism back to this court. However, I don’t know if that will happen with a judge that tries to bully and belittle us, not only in court, but also in the newspaper. Commissioner Waggoner, I want to apologize to you on behalf of the judge and this court, as problems with the Justice Center should be discussed openly during court. I hope today we strive to represent the citizens of this county better as the professionals that we are.”

DISCUSSION ITEMS:

12. Discussion regarding Artificial Intelligence in law enforcement – County Judge for Glenda Rudy, Citizen. Savoy, resident Glenda Rudy spoke about the use of AI in law enforcement. She voiced her concerns...

“I have been, researching AI in the last year and a half to ascertain, how it’s being used in conjunction with law enforcement. And my research indicates that it’s being used in some cases in a way to coerce false confessions, which violates our rights under the Constitution and laws of autonomy. Basically, I have concerns if AI is given free rein. I’m concerned about our autonomy, I’m concerned about justice.” Judge Cunningham responded “as I sit here today, I really can’t intelligently answer your questions. If it’s going to be implemented at the county level, I will familiarize myself with what’s going on.”

DISCUSSION AND POSSIBLE ACTION ITEMS:

16. Discussion and possible action to approve renewal of the Texas DMV Imposition of Optional Fees for calendar year 2026 per Texas Transportation Code, Chapter 502 –Tax Assessor/Collector.

Approved

17. Discussion and possible action to approve Order of Special Election for November 4, 2025 –County Judge. Approved

18. Discussion and possible action to approve replat combining lots 10 and 11 of the Five Points subdivision; Property ID#s 141602 and 141603 in Windom – Development Services Director. Approved

19. Discussion and possible action regarding a No Permit Required letter for a Battery Energy Storage System to be constructed on Rec Road 3 in Bonham; Property ID# 78404 – Development Services Director. Judge Cunningham reported on the status of this agenda item.

“My understanding is that the request to have us approve a carte blanche, and I’m going to call it a carte blanche, a predetermination that they don’t need all the permits they might need. They’ve removed that request. And I think that might be a result of their running into some, discussion at our zoning meeting, where there were questions asked about what they were doing, and why they couldn’t wait, and why they couldn’t get their plans in.” Bonham Mayor H Compton told commissioners court. “Unfortunately, the city has no say as far as what they do in our ETJ, and that’s where they’re gonna sit, so it’s putting the onus on you guys. But, we’d like to tell you that we are adamantly against it for obvious reasons, which y’all all are very familiar with. we would ask that you would please I guess, deny the permits,

which I guess that’s fallen, by the way, but also that, there would be no incentives whatsoever. That’s how these people make their money. They bring it in, faithfully, just like the judge said a while ago, and we’re left holding the bags, and it’s next to our water supply. And, other people’s water supply. I feel very sad and concerned about our neighbors to the west (Savoy BESS facility), but kind of saw what kind of predicament they got into. So, if you would please completely stop this thing, because y’all are the ones that can do it.” Bonham resident Michael Jeter who has extensive experience which includes a foundry engineer expressed his concerns. “Chemicals involved in these batteries, they’re explosive. Magnesium generates its own oxygen. It’s hard to put out very hard. It’s highly carcinogenic. This isn’t something you want in your water supply. These are very, very dangerous chemicals. On the permits, I would recommend whatever you’re considering for a bond, double it. Whatever you’re considering for a cleanup bond, double it.”

20. Discussion and possible action to release bond for Five Points and The Harbor at Five Points subdivisions – Development Services Director. The item passed on until next week 21. Discussion and possible action to enter into the Purdue and Sackler Opioid Settlement and authorize County Judge to sign the Subdivision Participation and Release Form – County Judge. Approved 22. Discussion and possible action regarding utilities in County Right of Ways – Commissioner Precinct 4. This agenda item concerns water lines being placed in the county roads right-of-way resulting in damage when the ditches or roads are being maintained.

has a long and storied past in Honey Grove. One of the early greats was Fay “Mule” Wilson. After graduating from Honey Grove High School in 1922, he went on to play for Texas A&M, captaining the team to the 1925 Southwest Conference Championship. After A&M, he went on to become the first Texas state high school track champion and the first Aggie to play for the NFL. Mule played for the Buffalo Rangers, the 1930 and 1931 World Champion Green Bay Packers, the Staten Island Stapletons, and the Portsmouth Spartans. One of the highlights of his career was scoring six touchdowns to help win the 1927 World Championship for the New York Giants. Mule Wilson died in 1937 and is buried in Oakwood Cemetery. A marble football honoring his place on the Giants team was placed on

his tombstone, but later was stolen and has been missing for many years. A replacement football will be dedicated at a special ceremony on Saturday, August 23, at 10:00 a.m., at Oakwood. The public is invited to attend and honor one of Honey Grove’s most successful and memorable football players. Please mark your calendars and plan to attend. So far, this has been an unusually wet summer. The weeds love this weather, so the mowing has been nonstop. In addition to mowing, tree maintenance is an important part of keeping Oakwood looking its best. Summer tree trimming has begun. Dead parts and overgrown limbs have been removed, including the dead top of one bois d’arc. The Oakwood board and volunteers work hard yearround to keep the cemetery beautiful, and your help is always appreciated.

Commissioner Kopf stated “I’ve been refusing to allow water lines to be placed in the roadway, or the road rightof-way. One of the things that I’ve come up against is, you know, one of my campaign promises was to clean the ditches out. And get the water off the road. Well,

when we start cleaning the ditches out, we start digging up water lines. And we found them that are 2 inches under the ground. I found one that you can actually see.” Kopf suggested a countrywide policy be put in place, specifically for developers coming into the county. Home Country: Slim Randles

Let’s ask a hypothetical question here. Would you (if you’re an adult already) trade your reputation as a responsible wage earner for the guarantee of becoming legendary? Well, I’d like to tell you about Old Man Jenkins. He was friendly but kinda mysterious. You know … as if anything he did or said or became before he came here just wasn’t any of our business. We didn’t even know his first name until he

died. Then somebody looked it up. Old Jenkins lived in a cabin he built. “Back up in the hills,” he said. We haven’t even found it yet. He’d make leather stuff and bring it to town and either sell it here, or mail it off to people. He’d maybe come to town four times a year. So what do you do when you are mailing leather and avoiding people’s questions? Well, you could become a legend. And Jenkins did just that.

He liked cats, and he’d always load up with a storebought bag of cat treats and started teaching our cats to jump. He’d start by scrunching a cat against his shins, then block the escape route with his hands. The only way out was to jump his hands … and they did. Every time they jumped, Jenkins gave them a cat treat. He started in on strays, then moved on to gentle house cats owned by old ladies. First thing you know,

Whitewright- 903-364-2215 Leonard – 903-587-3336 Denison – 903-516-5160 Bells – 903-965-4244 Wolfe City – 903-496-2331

he had all but one cat in town happily jumping for a treat. Sometimes they just jumped for fun. The only cat that failed was that three-legged cat of the Garcia family. Named Tripod, of course. Well, old Tri gave it his best, but having just one hind leg didn’t get the job done. But he got a treat for trying, anyway.

Old Man Jenkins died on one of his trips to town, and no one has ever found his cabin. But that’s okay. Maybe legendary status is reward enough. It’s the American Way.

Texas Hunting, Fishing Licenses on Sale Aug. 15

Fishin’ Report

TAKE A KID FISHING or Hunting!

Week

of August 13, 2025

Bois d’Arc EXCELLENT. Water normal stain; 86-89 degrees; 0.59 feet below pool. Bass early morning bite is short but weedless poppers or frogs on pond weed is best, work flukes on the edge. Pond dams seem to be good all day on Carolina rigs and deep diving cranks in 5-18 feet. Big worms and creature baits are best. Texas rigs are best all over the lake around bushes and big timber on road beds or fence rows in 5-10 feet. Creature baits rule on this lake as well as beavers.

Lavon GOOD. Water normal stain; 86 degrees; 1.24 feet below pool. Crappie have slowed down and changed their eating habits– some days they’re munching, some days they don’t move, and some days “where are they?” It’s not easy unless you get lucky and find that hungry school. Minnows are king. Black bass are good with white and chartreuse spinnerbaits in the mornings along with jerkbaits and soft plastics like the original Slugo worked Texas rigged without weight. If water is super clear, use that technique. If not clear, throw a 3-6 foot crawfish colored square bill around boat ramps and riprap for limits before 8 a.m. After 8 a.m., switch to a 12foot KVD Series 5 in sexy shad.

Ray Roberts FAIR. Water slightly stained; 82 degrees; 0.53 feet below pool. Things are starting to make a transition and it’s getting a little tougher with water temps getting up to the 90s. Crappie are starting to move out deeper to deep brush in 35-40 feet and in trees in 25-40 feet of water. Now they’re also moving out a bit and you can catch them better on timber in 12-18 feet of water, brush piles the same. Early mornings on windblown points for sand bass. Channel catfish are about the same - you can still fish baited holes. Sand bass are in 3545 feet of water. Largemouth bass are on offshore rocks or shallow brush. Nothing fishing good except channel catfish.

Tawakoni GOOD. Water lightly stained; 80 degrees; 0.36 feet below pool. Lake Tawakoni continues to fish decently as we head into August. Fish are moving often–staying on them has been a challenge. The hybrid striper, striper and white bass bite has been good. Fish are stacking up on shallow points in 10-20 feet. Surface feeding is also happening sporadically in early mornings and late evenings when we have some wind. The crappie bite has picked up. Minnows are working best in 12-20 feet near bridge pilings. The largemouth bite is good on frogs at daylight and working over to shallow cranks around dock legs and submerged irrigation intakes. Shaky heads have been good too.

Texoma GOOD. Water stained; 79 degrees; 1.23 feet above pool. Fishing with topwaters for the first hour of the day and getting some fish that way, then quickly switch over to slabs to finish filling the cooler. The fish that are being slabbed are out in deeper water and the fish that are throwing topwaters on are in shallower water and it’s been very good. It’s actually improved since last week. This is the kind of bite expected this time of year and it’s been very good fishing. Report by John Blasingame, Adventure Texoma Outdoors. Striper fishing will pick up on the backside of the full moon. Fish continue to school up and make their runs down ledges and across flats. Topwaters, swimbaits and slabs have been working on active schools near the islands and on bluff walls. Catfishing is good on punch bait for channels in 20-25 feet of water near stumps off points and humps in the main lake. Cut shad on deep flats and off river ledges for blues as they are schooled up in deeper water. Crappie can be found on brush and structure in 15-25 feet of water. Fish will be off points and main lake ledges in late summer pattern. Electronics are key in locating active fish.

TPWD News, AUSTIN – Fall is upon us and for hunters and anglers that can only mean one thing, it is time to renew hunting and fishing licenses. Before taking the boat out or hitting the field, the Texas Parks and Wildlife Department (TPWD) reminds hunters and anglers to purchase their new licenses for the 2025-26 season.

Current-year Texas hunting and fishing licenses (except the Year-from-Purchase AllWater Fishing Package) expire at the end of August. Licenses for the 2025-26 season go on sale Aug. 15. Texans purchase more than 3 million hunting and fishing licenses annually, directly funding a magnitude of conservation efforts and recreational opportunities. Fish stocking, wildlife management, habitat restoration,

public hunting leases, river access sites and Texas Game Wardens are just some of the many projects made possible by license sales.

A variety of licenses are available and can be purchased through the official TPWD website, or in-person at retail locations throughout Texas or TPWD offices. Licenses may also be purchased by phone at (800) 895-4248 during regular business hours, though callers may experience long hold times during the beginning of the season and other peak calling periods. A $5 administrative fee applies to phone and online purchases. All recreational licenses and endorsement stamps now have a digital option. The digital license option is available through online purchase only when licenses go on sale on Aug. 15. Digital license

holders must keep their digital license available via mobile device while in the field or on the water as they will not receive a printed license or tags. License holders must access and use their digital tags through the Texas Hunt & Fish mobile app. Digital licenses can be viewed through the Texas Hunt & Fish and TPWD Outdoor Annual mobile apps. For repeat license buyers, TPWD offers an expedited checkout process, allowing customers to re-purchase licenses bought in recent years.

Paper license holders may show an electronic copy of their license but must possess and apply physical tags for animals that require tagging. Several options exist for customers to provide proof of licensure other than their physical license, including: (1) an electronic photo of their licenses, (2) an emailed receipt of their purchases; (3) their account in the online license sales system; (4) by connecting their license to the Outdoor Annual or Texas Hunt & Fish mobile apps. Hunting and fishing regulations for the 2025-26 season are available online at outdoorannual.com, or via the free Outdoor Annual mobile app. Once downloaded, the app works without internet connectivity, making it easy for hunters and anglers to view regulations in even the most remote locations. Other features include license lookup, location-based functionality such as “Hunting Seasons and Regulations by Location,” “Where to Fish,” and more. A limited supply of printed booklets will be available at select TPWD offices. Hunters and anglers are encouraged to call their local offices to check availability. The Texas Hunt & Fish mobile app enables electronic submission of mandatory harvest reports, including alligator gar harvest reporting, and supports digital tagging

of harvested deer, turkey, oversized red drum and spotted seatrout for digital license holders. The app also allows hunters to complete their on-site registration for many TPWD public hunting lands. Hunters can hunt on more than one million acres of public land with the purchase of an annual public hunting permit. When buying their license, resident hunters and anglers may wish to purchase an entry in the Lifetime License Drawing. Three lucky winners will each win a Lifetime Super Combo License and never need to buy a Texas hunting or fishing license again. Entries are $5 each and can be purchased online, at any license retailer or by phone. The first entry deadline is Sept. 30. When making their purchase, license buyers can also add a donation of $1, $5, $10 or $20 to help support the Hunters for the Hungry program, the Fund for Veterans Assistance or Operation Game Thief. Donations to the Hunters for the Hungry program provide hunters with a way to donate legally harvested deer to participating processors. The processed meat goes to local food banks to feed Texas families in need. Donations to the Fund for Veterans Assistance program provide grants to veteran service organizations and nonprofit charitable institutions, assisting veterans and their families at the community level throughout Texas. Operation Game Thief is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit focused on protecting Texas’ wildlife and natural habitats through community engagement, outreach and education. It serves as Texas’ wildlife crime stoppers program. For frequently asked questions about Texas hunting and fishing licenses, visit the TPWD website.

Waiting Time Is Worship Time

Calvary Baptist Church Bonham, Texas

Waiting can be hard. I find myself waiting on several things in my life. What about you? What are you waiting for? Perhaps someone to marry. Perhaps it is that next big job opportunity. Whatever the case, I have learned waiting from a Christian perspective is far different than the worldly perspective. One of the Hebrew words for waiting expresses this. Qavah combines tension with a sense of anticipation or looking ahead. The word’s

origins are connected to the twisting or stretching of a cord—tension is part of what it means to wait.

During this anticipation, as believers we must focus on the hope we have in Christ. As we lean into God during our waiting, we can be fully assured that God is working His plan in His own amazing ways. We must always make sure our waiting is not focused on the thing we are waiting on, but on the Lord. Waiting time is worship time. In Psalms 25:4-5, the Psalmist states, “Make me

to know your ways, O Lord; teach me your paths. Lead me in your truth, and teach me, for you are the God of my salvation; for you I wait all day long.” Whatever you are waiting on today, make sure to fix your eyes on Jesus and eagerly and positively just wait on God to do His thing. God is never late. He is always on time.

Is God Providing New Revelation?

Does God still speak to us directly? Some believe that He does, and they claim to have experienced this, while others believe He not only speaks to them, but that they are receiving their faith/doctrine directly from Him, while others believe He speaks to us only through the bible. Which is true? What, or who, can we trust?

We know that God has communicated through inspired prophets. In many instances, the prophecy was proven true by its fulfillment, while at other times the revelation was confirmed by accompanying miracles. In the very last verse of Mark, it is stated, “And they went out and preached everywhere, while

the Lord worked with them and confirmed the message by accompanying signs.” (Mark 16:20) When someone tells me that God communicates with them directly, I don’t simply discount it, but neither do I accept it. Question: Why not? Answer: Because I have no confirming evidence. Without supporting evidence, it is simply an unconfirmed claim. However, it is more serious if the claim for inspiration involves doctrinal changes or additions to God’s word. Why? Because the “faith” has been delivered according to Jude, “I found it necessary to write appealing to you to contend for the faith that was once for all delivered to the saints.” (Jude 3) Paul rebuked the Galatian Christians

for “deserting” Christ and “turning to a different gospel”. (Galatians 1:6) John warns in 1 John 4:1, “Beloved, do not believe every spirit, but test the spirits to see whether they are from God, for many false prophets have gone out into the world.”

Regarding the doctrine of Christ, we must hold to that “faith”, delivered “once and for all”, by the apostles and prophets of the 1st century, which was confirmed by God through the accompanying signs. This information, this faith, provided by a plurality of witnesses, fulfilled prophecy, presented accurate projections related to the destruction of Jerusalem, and the Jewish nation, etc. can be trusted. Hold to the old paths!

The Search for Wisdom

Hello everyone! This week’s devotion comes from Proverbs 2:1-5. This passage tells us what is necessary for us to find the knowledge of God. When we compare this to the search for wealth or other hidden treasures, we see just how diligently this pursuit must be. First, our hearts must be intent on seeking out this wisdom. We must be willing to listen to godly instruction rather than resist it. We must also hide God’s Word deep within our hearts, just like we would protect something valuable that we don’t want to lose. We must give this wisdom our full attention, not just by hearing it, but by putting effort into making it part of our daily lives and our way of thinking. We must also earnestly pray for knowledge both in our

hearts and verbally. This passage serves as a reminder that wisdom from God is not passive, but pursued. The wisdom that only comes from the Lord is far more precious than any earthly wealth that we can obtain. True wisdom will bring us into a personal, growing relationship with the Lord. In summary, this wisdom is readily available, but we must seek it with effort, persistence, and humility. Seeking out this wisdom involves listening, hiding God’s Word in our hearts, praying for understanding, and valuing it above any worldly gain. The reward for our pursuit of the wisdom of God is spiritual clarity. This spiritual clarity refers to knowing and revering the Lord, which is the foundation for wise living.

In 1773, Thomas Scott wrote this classic hymn that comes from the message in this passage.

“Hasten, O sinner, to be wise, And stay not for the morrow’s sun; The longer wisdom you despise, The harder is she to be won.

O hasten mercy to implore, And stay not for the morrow’s sun, For fear thy season should be o’er Before this evening’s course be run.”

If you are looking for a good home church, we invite you to come visit us, and be a part of our church family and worship at Central Baptist Church. Visitors are our honored guests, and we hope to see you this coming Sunday!

The Problem With Idolatry

Church of Christ

What is the problem with idolatry? We are warned by John, “keep yourselves from idols” (1 John 5:21). Paul also warns, “my dearly beloved, flee from idolatry” (1 Corinthians 10:14). We must remember that “we ought not to think that the Godhead is like unto gold, or silver, or stone, graven by art and man's device” (Acts 17:29). God is Almighty and is not like the creatures which he made. Men have “changed the glory of the uncorruptible God into an image made like to corruptible man, and to birds, and fourfooted beasts, and creeping things” (Romans 1:23). God is all powerful, but idols are not. “We know that an idol is nothing in the world, and that there is none other God but one” (1 Corinthians 8:4). Even when created things are referred to as gods, “though there be that are called gods, whether in heaven or in earth, (as there be gods many, and lords many,) But to us there is but one God, the Father, of whom are all things, and we in him; and one Lord Jesus Christ, by whom are all things, and we by him” (1 Corinthians 8:5-6).

Some are led “away unto these dumb idols” (1 Corinthians 12:2). Paul observed at Athens that “the city wholly was given to idolatry” (Acts 17:16). An idolater “named Demetrius, a silversmith, which made silver

shrines for Diana, brought no small gain unto the craftsmen; Whom he called together with the workmen of like occupation, and said, Sirs, ye know that by this craft we have our wealth. Moreover ye see and hear, that not alone at Ephesus, but almost throughout all Asia, this Paul hath persuaded and turned away much people, saying that they be no gods, which are made with hands” (Acts 19:24-26).

We must put God first. Paul wrote “Neither be ye idolaters, as were some of them; as it is written, The people sat down to eat and drink, and rose up to play” (1 Corinthians 10:7).

Jesus said, “But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness” (Matthew 6:33).

Paul reminds us “What say I then? that the idol is any thing, or that which is offered in sacrifice to idols is any thing? But I say, that the things which the Gentiles sacrifice, they sacrifice to devils, and not to God: and I would not that ye should have fellowship with devils” (1 Corinthians 10:19-20).

Many things can become idols if we place those things as a higher priority than following God. Paul informs us that “the flesh are manifest, which are these; Adultery, fornication, uncleanness, lasciviousness, Idolatry, witchcraft, hatred,

variance, emulations, wrath, strife, seditions, heresies, Envyings, murders, drunkenness, revellings, and such like: of the which I tell you before, as I have also told you in time past, that they which do such things shall not inherit the kingdom of God” (Galatians 5:19-21).

John writes about those that “repented not of the works of their hands, that they should not worship devils, and idols of gold, and silver, and brass, and stone, and of wood: which neither can see, nor hear, nor walk” (Revelation 9:20) Sadly, many make money, wealth, property, ambition, a statue, a figurine, and even family into idols and placing a higher priority on these things than on God. Paul encourages us to cast “down imaginations, and every high thing that exalteth itself against the knowledge of God, and bringing into captivity every thought to the obedience of Christ” (2 Corinthians 10:5).
