“ A prayer for the Lord’s spiritual gifts, blessed by Him...

While si�ing quietly at a f�nction at a table alongside with handmade giſts that our company makes, out of somewhere, unrecog�ized, unpa�er�ed, a young man appeared and came. I would say he was about or around the age of t�ent�. He spoke ver� loudly, as he began reading one of the inspirational photo’s that was on the display table, he went on to say....

“ A prayer for the Lord’s spiritual gifts, blessed by Him...

Then, he placed and held one of his hands over his hear� and said...

“Oh, MY PRAYER LORD....”

Then he read ver� loudly and instensely....

“Spirit awaken that abides in me...

Arise from the depths of the inner core being, the truth from deep inside of me” Then, the young man bent all the way over to where his face was at the same level as the table that was holding this photo, and he continued to intensely read...

“That has been subsiding, for it seems like eternity I, invite Thee, please grant to me the giftings, the awakening I, desire for You, My Lord to over seed as You, oversee the entirety As it blossoms, blooms and grows, byway of Your breath and hand blessing while guiding it by each stage step by step, breath by breath

Then, it appeared as if a tear was begining to for� and come to a slow roll to the far edge of his eye and it sat there ready to fall at any moment now... Then the young man bent down even f�r�her until he became in the stancing of si�ing before the photo on bended knee as he went onto f�r�her�ore intentsely read...

Then he sat for a few moments as if he was catching his breath and analyzing, absorbing what he had just resited and prayed and then he responded with...

“This I pray in Jesus’ Name...AMEN!”

Then, he stood to his feet and looked over, directly at me, he began to g�in.

With no words out�ard any�ore spoken but with an inward ex�ression of g�a�it�de and release, realizing that God gave and placed that moment of t�ansfor�ing t��th by divine inter�ention when one was seeking and desiring. God was f�lfilling the prayer, the desire, the KNEEd/need. I saw the light of enlightenement of The Lord God f�lfill one’s spirit and soul that was yearing.and de­ siring for Him so(w). The young man’s g�in had a silent but most potent thank you wri�en all over and �om it. It was exactly what he was desiring. God, just made a God spoken difference in and with that prayer that day...

Then, the young man was inter��ped by what one would think was his mother. She asked just what was he doing and he said, “Just reading that prayer.” With the tone and reaction �om it was displayed to her, as if he was not interested and just shr�gged it off as it seemed he did this to avoid any cont�oversy.

Then, she depar�ed �om him aſter she looked at him with a out�ard tone of “Don’t pay any a�ention to any of that...”It was the unspoken appearance at and to him, with a threat.

He ret�r�ed a look of the same to her as if he, with her ag�eed. And that is what it took for her to �om him, depar�, leave.

So then, she did.

Almost immediately aſter she t�r�ed her back, he began to pace in a stance of a quickly walking as to God he was praying while walking briskly in the for�ation of a circle all around this large hall of a room.

As each time he would come by the booth that I was si�ing, he would quickly stop in �ont and hold his hand over his hear� and prayer loudly to God. Cr�ing out in desperation for The Lord’s deliverance and inter�ention.

This is oſten what happens in quiet places with this t��e of minst��. Oſten what happens in �ont of many they do not clearly see.

Discer�ing and or lack of it. The in �ont but behind the SEEN’s things that we oſten encounter that many are so obliviously to and dismiss the t�anfor�ations that are each moment taking place right before many people’s eyes, God, is continually touching while t�ansfor�ing lives....

Then, aſter the young man said yet another prayer and then began to gain circle and pass by, one who was si�ing beside me said, “I want to purchase that photo of prayer that he read and I want to give it to him.”

That person picked up the prayer quickly to hand it to him as he was to soon be in �ont of the table again at any momoment if you timed it in sequence and as she did, she no longer saw him.

She looked all over quickly and did not see him. She went quickly out the door of the hall and into the parking lot and again, to no avail. He disappeard as quickly as he appeared, and she then, was leſt with the same photo of prayer, now in her hands. ...And so(w) it is...

Many saw and see and catagozrize that young man by and as his condition. disabled as he is autistic.

The out�ard condition is a state of a being that also may be with and in at a time or moment, but it should not define who or who’s we t��thf�lly are by catagorizing and limiting or unlimting by labeling.

When I was fifteen I was sent to visit the Careers Teacher at school, who, without looking at me, presented me with the details of the two jobs for which she had already decided I would apply be­ fore leaving school the following Easter term.

One was on the production line in a factory that manufactured plas­ tic hair­brushes, and the other was in a supermarket.

I was a strange little girl from public housing, with some behav­ ior issues (undiagnosed ADHD and Asperger's), whose parents were factory ­workers; so this teacher reckoned that this was where my skills should take me, never mind that I was in the top stream, with an IQ that blew hers out of the water.

She did deign to ask me what my interests were. I said: "Psychology, social­justice, education, politics,

philosophy, his­ tory, art." I said that I had hoped to make a career involving one, or maybe even all of those interests.

Her laugh was the sound that the words disdain and pity make when they are dropped on a glass ceiling, and I was emotion­ ally lacerated: "Don't be stupid, you have to go to university to study those things, and there's no way you're going to university!" I asked why not, and she did not even bother to answer me.

I studied History and English Liter­ ature at the University of Stirling and received my Bachelor's de­ gree in 1987. After spending a few years working in bars, shops, kitchens, cleaning offices and ho­ tels I found a friend and mentor who helped me to realize that I had more to offer the world. He

made me feel understood and heard for the first time in my life.

Each time I speak for the first time with a new student who is feeling overwhelmed and "unworthy" to undertake study, I tell them that story. They always have one the same to tell me: about someone who, at some crucial point in their lives, made them feel less than their sum; unworthy to reach, to dream, to achieve.

As educators we should not merely teach; we should hear and under­ stand, and we should encourage our students to reach, and to dream. In doing so, we will enable them feel that they can achieve.

Directions:1.Preheat oven to 375°F. Coat 9x9 baking dish with nonstick cooking spray. In a large bowl, combine beef, onion,

Ore-Ida Cowboy Meatloaf & Potato Casserole: Ingredients 1 pound Lean Ground Beef 3/4 cup Finely Chopped Onion 1/3 cup Seasoned Dry Breadcrumbs 1/4 cup Jack Daniels® Honey Smokehouse Barbecue Sauce 1 Egg, lightly beaten 2 teaspoons Chili Powder 3/4 teaspoon Salt 1 package Ore-Ida® Steam n’ Mash Cut Russet Potatoes 2/3 cup Canned Evaporated Milk 1 tablespoon Butter 1 tablespoon Chopped Fresh FlatLeaf Parsley 1 teaspoon Garlic Powder 1 cup Cooked Bacon Crumbles 1/4 cup Canned Crispy Fried Onions 2/3 cup Shredded Mexican-style Cheese Blend

breadcrumbs, Barbecue Sauce, egg, chili powder and salt until well mixed.

Gently press into bottom of baking dish.2.Bake uncovered for 20 to 25 minutes, or until cooked through. Remove from oven and carefully pour off any excess fat if needed. Adjust oven temperature to broil and place oven rack 6 to 8 inches from heat source.3.Meanwhile, microwave Potatoes according to package instructions. In a large bowl, mix together hot Potatoes, milk, butter, parsley and garlic, and mash with a potato masher until smooth. For a smoother consistency, mix with an electric mixer to desired consistency. Stir in bacon and fried onions. Spread evenly on top of beef mixture and sprinkle with cheese.4.Broil for 3 to 5 minutes, or until cheese is lightly browned. Serve hot with additional Barbecue Sauce if desired. Crockpot Bacon Cheeseburger Soup 32oz bag frozen shredded hash browns 1 lb hamburger, cooked 1/2 lb bacon, cooked and chopped 2 lb Velveeta cheese 32 oz chicken broth 1 tsp pepper 2 Tbsp dried minced onion flakes 1 tsp garlic powder 2 tsp worcestershire sauce Combine all ingredients in 6-quart slow cooker.

Cook on low for 8-10 hours. Serve with cheddar cheese and bacon, if desired.
