Solstice retrofit options are compatible with virtually every fixture, including recessed and track lighting. With fewer parts and easier assembly, these smaller and lighter weight modules provide both the fixture manufacturer, as well as the end user, with lower overall costs. Superior active cooling coupled with proprietary thermal management design, ensures the module maintains efficiency in high temperatures, provides color consistency, and ensures low light degradation throughout its’ life expectancy of 100,000 hours. Solstice modules come in two sizes.

GTSOL5498 (standard) is a 42 LED chip module and the Mini21 is a 21 LED chip module. With a variety of photometric options and unlimited possibilities these modules can replace any HID bulb in any application.

Life Sync Smart Technology With the introduction of Life Sync smart technology, our modules are now intelligent. Monitoring their environment, Solstice modules run at optimum settings without damaging themselves, thus extending their life expectancies.

Life Sync also takes care of lumen depreciation issues by slowly ramping lumen output to supplement any losses resulting from natural degradation. Learn more on page 7.

Power Modes On board dip switches provide power selection capabilities for OEM fixture manufacturers and lighting designers who wish to adjust power and brightness in the field, according to specific applications. Additionally, on board energy savings program 561 is provided, and when activated, dims the modules automatically during off peak hours without using external controls. This system saves the equivalent of 1,100 hours of operating time per fixture, per year. Learn more on page 13.

Scalability Solstice modules have the benefit of being completely scalable by allowing multiple modules to be installed in one fixture, if necessary. Both retrofit fixtures and brand new Solstice LED units are ordered and built to the requirements of each application. Learn more on page 11.

Advanced Optics Advanced optic lenses in our Solstice modules provide the ability to customize light output to the modules’ surrounding environment. These specialized lenses can send light directly where it is needed, reducing dark spots, wasted lumens, and unwanted light pollution. Learn more on page 5.

The Yoke Retrofit Bracket

With only three pieces, the yoke retrofit is the most universal mounting solution available. The threaded rod can be made to any length, optimizing the bracket for the fixture. The same bracket and rod (without the yoke) is used for finial applications or situations where a threaded rod would be a better mounting option.

Using a fan to force air through the heat sink provides an optimal level of active cooling by transporting excess heat away from the critical components on the circuit board. This viable active cooling solution for high brightness LEDs is inherently low in energy consumption, flexible enough to fit into a small space, and has an expected life (100,000hrs) matching that of the Luxeon LEDs. This system is used in retrofits to compensate for the lack of passive heat transfer in older fixtures.

Optimize the Module for the Application Program Dip switch: Program Selection - You can currently select 1 of 4 programs, as indicated by the dot allocation on the left side of the Dip Switch.

Global Tech LED invented a Wireless Module which facilitates Dimming and Instant On/Off Control using either Photocell or Motion Sensor or both. It is engineered with simple mapping software, and utilizes radio protocols for Zigbee, Synapse or others typically found in the industry.

When a motion sensor is engaged the Solstice is turned ON to 100% Output for 15 minutes. When no motion is detected after 15 minutes the Solstice can be set to either 20% or 50% Dimming or OFF. The Photocell or Motion Sensor must be installed within 500 feet of the Solstice Product using (20AWG) wiring for 0-10vdc sensor controls.

The system is setup at installation and is automatically optimized to provide high performance for the Solstice LED product. The Module integrates seamlessly with most of the major manufacturers of 0-10 VDC sensors such as Lutron, SensorSwitch, WattStopper.

5498 Switches

Functions: STD: A default setting unit is on at all times.

561 energy saver program (sav): When this option is selected it allows the customer to operate outdoor lamps at 100% output for the first 5 hours of operation, dimming 50% for 6 late evening hours, than ramping back up to 100% output for the last hour of the evening. This useful program saves 3 hours of operation per night which results in savings over 1,100 hours per year!

Dimming Programs: Dimm Sink (default): This selection is to be used when a motion sensor or dimming switch are using a dimming ballast to provide the 10v power to the motion sensor or dimming switch.

M21 Switches Programming the Wireless Module: Our unique selectable dip-switch identifies the task. The 5-dip switch input selector tells the Wireless Module what the control task is going to be. We provide a detailed list of devices with corresponding switch selections.

The control selection is a 10-dip switch selector where you code who is following who. Switch 1-5 controls 1 device, and 6-10 controls a second device. In some situations, you may require 2 control devices controlling the same fixture. For example, let’s say you have a motion sensor and you want it to control 2 fixtures. You would first set the input switch to designate a motion sensor and 2 light sources. On the control side you would configure all three devises with the same code (1-5). At this point, the 2 light sources will be controlled by the motion sensor: simple!

Dimm Source (selectable): This selection is to be used when a motion sensor or dimming switch are using the LED module to provide the 10v power to the motion sensor or dimming switch.

Wattage Selection: Wattage Dip switch: Program Selection - You can currently select 1 of 4 wattage setting, as indicated by the dot allocation on the right side of the Dip Switch.

Both models feature 4 wattage selections: 5498- High Output, High, Med High, and Med Low M21- 100%, 75%, 50% and 25%

The controller does not need to be connected to the Internet in order for the system to work. In most cases, once the system is configured, the need to reconfigure the settings is minimal. For those clients that wish to have more control on a daily basis, the system can be set up using the Internet. Additional equipment will be required to operate the system along with yearly maintenance fees. This option will provide the remote monitoring of lights, collection of fixture data, such as temperature, service hours, energy usage, etc. and makes it easy to view or control lighting over the Internet.

Brands: Global Tech LED utilizes drivers from Hatch, Fulham, Inventronics, and Meanwell. Utilizing multiple driver brands allows us to customize the modules to not only the application but also the fixture and the unit’s immediate environment.

STATEMENT OF LIMITED WARRANTY FOR GLOBAL TECH LED, LLC 2/25/14

Global Tech LED Warranty

Subject to the exclusions set forth below, Global Tech LED, LLC. (“Global Tech”) warrants its commercial Solstice light emitting diode (LED) engine, including the LED arrays, fan, and integral control devices (“Products(s)”), to be free from defect in materials and workmanship (the “General Warranty”) for a period of ten (10) years from the date of shipment from Global Tech’s facilities or 50,000 operating hours, whichever is reached first.. The LED arrays in the Product(s) will be considered defective in material or workmanship only if a total of 10% or more of the individual light emitting diodes in the Product(s) fail to illuminate. The supplied driver is warrantied for 5 years. Global Tech will assist the customer in replacement of this product with the original OEM manufacturer. Global Tech may choose to replace drivers with another OEM if necessary at its discretion.

LABOR COSTS ASSOCIATED WITH WARRANTABLE LED MODULE REPLACEMENT. Global Tech LED may pay labor costs on a job with a 3% or greater failure rate due to a product defect, up to $25 (twenty five dollars) per unit at GTL’s discretion, associated with replacement of product deemed warrantable upon inspection of returned goods up to one year from date of purchase. Invoices for labor must be sent to Global Tech LED along with RGA (return goods authorization), and product to be inspected for warranty claim. If product defect is considered warrantable upon GTL inspection, Global Tech LED will reimburse labor expenses up to $25 per LED module. Projects asking for Labor cost reimbursements must first get approval from GTL and be issued an RGA that includes labor costs. GTL will not be responsible for equipment rental or other additional costs that may occur. *This program is subject to change at GTL’s discretion. This Statement of Limited Warranty (“Warranty”) applies only when the Product(s) are installed in applications in which ambient temperatures are within the range of specified operating temperatures and are operated within the electrical values shown on the LED driver Label.

Global Tech will not be responsible under this Warranty for any failure of the Product(s) that results from external causes such as: acts of nature; physical damage; exposure to adverse or hazardous chemical or other substances; use of reactive cleaning agents and/or harsh chemicals to clean the Product(s); environmental conditions; vandalism; fire; power failure, improper power supply, power surges or dips, and/or excessive switching; induced vibration; animal or insect activity; fault or negligence of purchaser, any end user of the Product(s) and/or any third party not engaged by Global Tech; improper or unauthorized use, installation, handling, storage, alteration, maintenance or service, including failure to abide by any product classifications or certifications, or failure to comply with any applicable standards, codes, recommendations, product specification sheets, or instructions of Global Tech; use of the Product(s) with products, processes or materials supplied by any end user or third party; or any other occurrences beyond Global Tech’s reasonable control. Adequate records of operating history, maintenance, and/or testing must be kept by the end user and provided to Global Tech upon request to substantiate that the Product(s) have failed to comply with the terms of this Warranty. Neither polycarbonate non acrylic material used in the Products is warranted against yellowing, as yellowing may naturally occur over time due to normal aging. The Product(s) are not warranted against costs that may be incurred in connection with changes or modifications to the Product(s) required to accommodate site conditions and/or faulty building construction or design. In addition, the Product(s) are not warranted against cost resulting from installation of a third party components, failures of third party supplied components, or failures of Global Tech supplied Product(s) caused by a third party supplied component.If Global Tech determines, at its sole discretion, the Product(s) fail to comply with the terms of this Warranty, Global Tech, at its option, will repair or replace the Product(s) with the same or a functionally equivalent Product(s) or component part(s). This Warranty excludes labor and equipment required to remove and/or reinstall original or replacement parts. This Warranty extends only to the Product(s) as delivered to, and is for the sole and exclusive benefit of, the original end user of the Product(s) at the original location. This Warranty may not be transferred or assigned by the original end user. The repair or replacement of any Product(s) or component part within the Product(s) is the sole and exclusive remedy for failure of the Product(s) to comply with the terms of this Warranty and does not extend the Warranty period. Warranty claims regarding the Product(s) must be submitted in writing within (30) days of discovery of the defect or failure to an authorized Global Tech post­sales or customer service representative.

Product(s) or component part(s) may be required to be returned for inspection and verification of non­conformance by Global Tech, but no Product(s) or component part(s) will be accepted for inspection, verification or return unless accompanied by a “return authorization number” which can be obtained only from an authorized Global Tech post­sales or customer service representative. Global Tech is not responsible for any costs and expenses incurred in connection with shipment of Product(s) to Global Tech, but Global Tech shall bear all cost and expense incurred in connection with shipment of replacement Product(s) to the customer.

THE FOREGOING WARRANTY TERMS ARE EXCLUSIVE AND IN LIEU OF ALL OTHER WARRANTIES, AND GLOBAL TECH EXPRESSLY DISCLAIMS ALL OTHER WARRANTIES, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, RELATING DIRECTLY OR INDIRECTLY TO THE PRODUCT(S), WHETHER ORAL, WRITTEN, OR ARISING BY COURSE OF DEALING OR USAGE OF TRADE, INCLUDING ,WITHOUT LIMITATION, ANY WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY OR FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE. NO AGENT, DISTRIBUTOR OR OTHER SUPPLIER OF GLOBAL TECH PRODUCTS HAS THE AUTHORITY TO MODIFY OR AMEND THIS WARRANTY WITHOUT EXPRESS WRITTEN AUTHORIZATION FROM GLOBAL TECH. The total liability of Global Tech on any and all claims of any kind, whether in contract, warranty, tort (including negligence), strict liability or otherwise, arising out of or in connection with, or resulting from, Global Tech’s performance or breach of this Warranty, or from Global Tech’s sale, delivery, resale, repair, or replacement of any Product(s) or the furnishing of any services, shall in no event exceed the purchase price allocable to the Product(s) that give rise to the claim, and any and all such liability shall terminate upon the expiration of the warranty period specified above.

IN NO EVENT SHALL GLOBAL TECH BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, SPECIAL, INCIDENTAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, EXEMPLARY OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, EVEN IF INFORMED OF THE POSSIBILITY OF SUCH DAMAGES, WHETHER AS THE RESULT OF BREACH OF CONTRACT, WARRANTY, TORT (INCLUDING NEGLIGENCE), STRICT LIABILITY, OR ANY OTHER THEORY, INCLUDING WITHOUT LIMITATION LABOR OR EQUIPMENT REQUIRED TO REMOVE AND/OR REINSTALL ORIGINAL OR REPLACEMENT PARTS, LOSS OF TIME, PROFITS OR REVENUES, LACK OR LOSS OF PRODUCTIVITY, INTEREST CHARGES OR COST OF CAPITAL, COST OF SUBSTITUTE EQUIPMENT, SYSTEMS, SERVICES OR DOWNTIME COSTS, DAMAGE TO OR LOSS OF USE OF PROPERTY OR EQUIPMENT OR ANY INCONVENIENCE ARISING OUT OF ANY BREACH OF THE FOREGOING WARRANTY OR OBLIGATIONS UNDER SUCH WARRANTY.
