Saturday, August 7, 2-4 PM | Forest Avenue Library Staff from DMACC Admissions will be here to help you through the class registration process. Meet representatives from DMACC’s Workforce Training Academy, learn about financial aid with materials from the Iowa College Access Network, or talk to Drake admissions staff about transferring credits. Activities and snacks will be provided for kids. Help in Spanish will be available, as well.
Saturday, August 28, 2 PM | Riley Park, 2819 53rd Street Families can come to this program and learn how to play the harmonica from Central Iowa Blues Society member Malcolm Wells. Attendees will receive a free harmonica courtesy of the Central Iowa Blues Society while supplies last, so come early!
Fall Gardening with Polk County Extension Monday, August 30, 6 PM | Franklin Avenue Library Learn about growing food this autumn and how to prepare for winter. Kalsa Parker Browning, a Master Gardener with the Iowa State Extension Office, will lead the program.

Mondays and Fridays, 1-3 PM | Central Library Get help finding community resources like meal sites and shelters, or support and referrals for matters like scheduling a medical or mental health appointment or applying for an ID. Community advocates from Primary Health Care, Central Iowa Shelter & Services, and Hope Ministries will offer help and support to those in need at Central Library.
